I bought the original in 1974 and it was, is and remains my favourite boardgame so I was delighted when Gibson Games re-launched it. I wouldn't be exaggerating by saying that playing this game taught me so much about the dynamics of late medieval politics.I bought a copy and wasn't disappointed. It has all the qualities of the original, options to play all of the variations of later editions but with modern production values. If you love strategy games and have an interest in the Wars of the Roses then buy it. You won't be disappointed.

I have the original game and was curious to see if this is an improvement, given the cost. I am pleased to say it exceeded my expectations in every way, great quality components, more depth than the original, and the rules honed. Highly recommended.

Good quality board game

It's wonderful, even more than it was originally.

The game itself looks magnificent and the updated rules offer a challenge to the player.The delivery was the worst yet by Amazon. The driver made no attempt to deliver to my home instead choosing to deliver it to a neighbour without informing me, leaving me to hunt for it.

I first played Kingmaker in the early seventies and it has remained from favourite ever since - I had bought all the earlier versions. It is easy to learn and teach and is a great multiplayer game, whose only fault was that games could drag on for awhile without resolution.This edition changes that with a well designed shorter game, but still has the advanced version of you want it. The solo version is also a real bonus.The game has always had good components and this is no exceptionIf you are looking for a game to get to table and have a good time, I would suggest you can do far worse than Kingmaker.

Kingmaker just got a major glow-up!The new look is stunning – the board is practically a work of art.They kept the classic strategy vibe but added fresh rules with cool twists. It's still all about wheeling and dealing, making alliances, and throwing in a bit of friendly betrayal.Classic mode is my go-to because of the ability to extend the rules with the extended and optional ruleset.Give it a go, gets some mates together and have a laugh. Its a brilliant game.
