Easy Origami Animals (Dover Crafts: Origami & Papercrafts) Paperback – Illustrated, 30 Jan. 2015

Once the child is hooked on paper folding this is a brilliant book for keeping them going. Teaches not only how to fold the animals but how to follow specialised instructions. It's well worth spending a little time to clarify the codes on the arrows and lines at the beginning, and demonstrate each – this helps the origami student take a more independent approach. Moves from easier to harder animals. The forms really are elegant and well proportioned to give a strong sense of the physical shape of each animal.

A little bit too easy. Okay, to be fair "Easy" is one of the 3 words comprising the title, but I had read a couple of reviews which indicated that it was a bit more tricky than the title suggested - a consequence of keeping it simple is that some of the animals are a little nondescript, but some are better. Gonna make 'em for friends at work anyway and hope that they are easily impressed! Looking forward to getting stuck in. Otherwise book arrived earlier than anticipated and was in excellent condition.

This turns out to be my sons favourite origami book, he is 10 years and finds the drawings clear so as to be able to follow them - but they are complicated enough to challenge him and keep his interest (not babyish).

Bought it for my 6 year old but it is much too difficult for him. I though, am thoroughly enjoying it. It’s not “easy” to start with, but with some perseverance, you can get there. It’s a surprisingly relaxing activity for me! Guess you can either take to it or find it too tedious.

I bought this for my grandsons Christmas I’ve looked inside the book and it looks well illustrated I think he we’ll love it
