The Birstall commode was developed with a larger seat width and weight capacity required to accommodate the larger user. It comes with a reinforced all welded steel frame which has been coated with Duradip tough, peel proof and anti corrosive plastic for increased longevity.In terms of features, the Birstall commode has e-clip secured detachable arms to enable lateral transfers, a clip on / clip off seat which is both sturdy and extremely easy to clean, and a flame retardant polyurethane (PU) backrest and overseat that is easy to clean, waterproof and comfortable. The four 13cm (5") castors allow carers to manoeuvre and position the commode close to users for easier transfers while the brakes on each castor provide additional stability. It also comes with a sturdy 14 litre bucket and lid that can be effortlessly removed for emptying, prevents spills and helps to confine odours.
