A family film
I purchased this for the sole purpose of entertainment, and I was not disappointed. This film made me laugh! I have always been a fan of Yogi Bear, and this film has surpassed my expectations. It is a great film for kids. The bears are very well animated for the budget of the film, and the combination of animated and real life worked well. Every film has a hero and a villain (The hero being Yogi and Booboo and the villain being the evil mayor attempting to destroy Jellystone National Park!) and Yogi Bear does not disappoint.What do we want from a family film? Humour, Hero, Villain and Bears dancing in a forest to a CD player. Yogi Bear has it all and more. A very good film.

Great family film;
This is a super film for kids. I'm 11, and I still love it. I found some of yogi's comments totally hilarious, and I can't believe some people would give it less than three stars! I can watch it over and over again, and I still laugh every time! I bought the DVD after seeing it at the cinema; worth every penny, I'd say. The plot is a bit obvious, but so what? It's just Yogi Bear - who says it has to be high-tech and the like? If you watched the original Yogi Bear, you'll treasure this.

Yo Yogi!
He's back! The bear with attitude and a penchant for pic-a-nic baskets together with Boboo as his conscience. I initially bought this DVD for my daughter after telling her all about the cartoon characters that were around when I was her age (8), some 30 odd years ago. I didn't think that having real-life with a CGI bear would work, but it does. Justin Timberlake as the voice of Boboo was so close to the original it was amazing. Dan Aykroyd has Yogi (almost) to a tee. We sat down to watch this one very rainy Saturday afternoon and it was like going back in time. The antics were all there, the amazing inventions that hardly ever work, the speed and turn of a pic-a-nic basket disappearing, the look of innocence, it all took me back. My daughter thought he was wonderful and (like me) fell in love with Boboo and she laughed so much with all the inventions going wrong that she was literally crying with laughter. Even my husband eventually had to give up reading the paper to see what we were laughing about.The conservation message that came across was clear but so subtle that it didn't really need explaining to an 8 year old. As we live on a fairly new estate where there is a new country park in the process of being "built" it helped her understand why, when you take something away, you have to give something back.Well done to the makers of this film

Fine for younger ones
I can't decide to review this on my son's behalf (he loved it) or on mine so went in the middle for the rating and have gone on to explain:My son is cartoon mad and will give most things a shot, he isn't particularly discriminating. But he really did enjoy it, laughed like a drain for quite alot of it, so the film deserves that noted at least.Having liked the TV show as a child, I can't say I really enjoyed what has been done with the film. Not much of a story on the go. It is bright, cheerful and harmless....apart from the fairly standard cartoon knocks and bashes I guess. And of course has a happy ending.Maybe I am expecting too much from a children's film? But having seen lots (probably hundreds) with my film mad son, there is better on the go.

Ignore the old miseries.
My wife and I loved this film and we saw it without kids! It's Yogi Bear which means it's silly, childish and very funny. Why some people are expecting something more I just can't fathom. If you've got kids they will love it, if you remember Yogi bear from your childhood days and loved him you will think you've died and gone to heaven watching this film.
