Lana: The Lady, The Legend, The Truth

I have only praise for this, as I have been a Lana Turner fan all my life. Obviously, or I wouldn’t have read it.Lana Turner lays bare her life, her secrets, her scandals, her ups and downs. I felt she was being sincerely honest in her memoirs. Of course, she may have chosen to omit things, one for instance I know of may have been her daughter’s secret to tell. I noticed that no co-writer was credited, though I’m sure that she must have had help of some kind. This was a very concise book, in fact too concise. The last 10 to 15 years up to present day (of 1982) was mentioned in the last 30 pages or so. I wished this could have been longer. If you love Lana Turner, this is the book for you. She lived it. She survived it all. Her strength and vitality come through in this testament to a life that was lived to the fullest.

Il libro è completamente privo delle fotografie che nella precedente edizione erano presenti. Bisognerebbe avvisare i lettori. Se avessi saputo non lo avrei acquistato, possedendo la prima edizione. In pratica solo due pagine di introduzione cambiano il contenuto del libro edito 2021.Molto deludente

This book has a rather unusual and unexpected feature in that the last batch of photographs has been inserted upside down! Luckily, my husband (for whom I bought this book as a present) thought it was an added attraction rather than a mistake, and it has not spoiled his enjoyment one jot! The one slightly disturbing thing is that this was not spotted by the seller before dispatch but, who knows, they might have increased the price if they HAD spotted it, thinking its value as a 'one-off' might be tremendous! A good read,nevertheless.

It was very interesting, and an easy - read.

What a fabulous lady. There was something so genuine and loveable about the way she wrote.
