If you've been following OPWW, then this collection should be familiar to you. With the upcoming changes in the main website hub, however, those same essays may stop being available for all. Some of you might scream cash grab, at that, and you couldn't be further from the truth. Besides the fact that this is a beautiful book - and I mean, it just looks amazing - the text clearly deserves to be portable. Multiple times, now, I've found myself out camping, exercising or otherwise without an internet connection and found myself needing the guidance and potency offered in these exact texts. Making the War Journal portable is not only conducive to the author's career, it's helpful for you, the reader, in your quest for betterment. Take it with you next time you're camping. Leave it on your bedside table and read a passage on waking and sleeping. See how it transforms you, in time. XCII.

Mandatory Reading for all men
I lost count of how many times I highlighted phrases found in this book. Often adding notes telling me re-read the text everyday. I pulled my heaviest deadlift after reading the section on training. The whole book sis inspirational like nothing I have ever seen before!

Good when good, but heavily flawed
I read a LOT of books/blogs in this kind of circle, so part of target audience. When it is firing correctly, the book is very passionate and inspiring. But there are issues that drag it down. It is unorganized and meanders to random things like praying to runes to joining a motorcycle gang to fight people, but the biggest issue is the lack of editing. Normally I can overlook this stuff (misused commas etc) but there is literally unfinished sentences, weird typology problems and random symbols scattered throughout.I liked some of the stuff he said, but it was obvious he didn't actually check the quality before putting it out there.

Good book for inspiration and "getting pumped up
Good book for inspiration and "getting pumped up." Waggener's agressive writing style and short segments are great for getting one's self in the mood for a rough workout or for building a "take-all-comers" attitude for the rest of your day.

Great book for men.
Great collection of short essays about developing the core masculine virtues: strength, courage, mastery and honor. If you liked A Sky without Eagles by Jack Donovan you should like this. Paul isn't as good as a writer as Jack but he has a way of writing that leaves an impact. His essay on comfort is especially good. I am looking forward to reading volume 3 and 4 when they come out. His youtube videos are worth checking out and his interview on the pressure project podcast is worth listening to.

Great book of Paul's writings
Paul is a truly inspired writer. For me personally, reading Paul's writings is a kick in the ass to be better tomorrow than I was today. Don't give up, never give in. Always move forward, always eyes on the goal.

... and smile as we go to our graves as good little consumers of corperate S**T
Paul Waggener doesn't sugar the medicine when it comes to emptiness of modern living nor how we've been conditioned to get up each morning to work and smile as we go to our graves as good little consumers of corperate S**T! He preaches a re-awakening of personal power for both men and women, to see what the world is like and remake our own world and becomes Gods in it. In short to go from lap dogs to wolfs and beyond. Part manifesto part tome on older more Western European ways of seeing spirituallity he moves the reader from weakness by confronting it and destroying it. To him each day is chance to battle and become more than a mere clock watching mortal. Reading it is easy - living it is the challenge, but a challenge we all need and that goes for me too.

Guides to Living
Most people are walking dead: Paul Waggener offers a way to awaken one's self from the sleep the modern age. These essays span from musings on forming bonds with other individuals, the importance of training the mind and the body, and techniques for honing our better qualities. Running through these essays is a sense of respect and awe for the cosmic experience we find ourselves in, reiterating that the True Experience is "out there" and demanding that you must pursue it.
