The skirt is ok for my 10 year old. I bought 9 - 10 (she's not a large child) and as the photos show the skirt is about 16 inches long and about 13.5 inches wide at the waist (so about 27 inches in circumference.) Which is very loose on a slim child, it would have easily slipped right off her hips and fallen to the floor! I've taken it in at the waist, so it's ok. It's just above knee length on her and the material is what you'd expect from a uniform skirt. No pockets or lining. The back zip is 5 inches or 13 cm long and the material is not stretchy. This navy skirt is a good colour, not too dark or too close to royal blue. Without alterations the skirt would fit a shortish child who's a bit chubby better than an average child.

Great value for a nice style for my 5 and 9yo. Seem good quality and solidly stitched - look like they will last longer than they will fit. The only thing I would add is an adjustable waist but otherwise perfect.

I am a size 16 from decent retailers with good sizing but order 18s usually if unsure of size. Ordered this in a size 18 as part of a fancy dress outfit (golf skirt) but was very disappointed with the sizing!This is more like a size 14 and not true to size.... extremely poor sizing!
