I was very excited about this molecular kit, however, it was a disappointment. The pieces are extremely difficult to fit together and in the end, I gave up on using it for my students. The price is quite reasonable which is why I ordered them in the first place, but the kit just doesn't work. You want your DNA strands to open and close easily to show concepts like semi-conservative replication, transcription, H bonds, which was not possible with this kit.

I got this as a gift for my son, who loves science in many of it's forms. It's a fun kit that allows you to build it yourself, and learn while you're doing it. We liked it.

These were good for my DNA lesson for my science class. My only issue was how hard they were to put together for my middle schoolers.

Plenty of parts to piece together but once assembled it doesn't just look good, it can be reasonably accurate - my wife who does some genetic analysis at work even took it to work for her desk, even a bit of springiness to get the famous spiral twist. The one downside we found was it took a lot of effort to fit the pieces together - the connections are very tight fits so a lot of force needed to be applied to get them to fit together. Good news is that it'll hold together well once you finish assembling it, but if you give this to younger children (maybe even some middle schoolers) you may need to provide some adult assistance

I am a traveling teacher and purchased this kit for my gifted and talented elementary students. This kit is terrible. The pieces do not go together easily and some are even melted! I will be returning. Don’t waste your time.
