Camera Video Module 5MP Webcam 1080p 720p for Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Pi 2 and Pi Zero

3 stars down the line. I thought these would be great to use for a low profile night vision security camera, but they don't work well outside of a few specific situations, and the IR lamps glow red and are very visible to the human eye. The night vision works really well within a confined space, which is great for things like doorways, hallways, most rooms, etc. But when you get more than 10ft away from it, the picture quality drops hard.All in all this is really more for a hobbiest than for home security or anything stealthy, it just isn't practical, and the Raspberry Pi system doesn't make it user friendly or cost effective for the quality. For most practical purposes, I'd rather just get an older 720p IR security cameras and make due. You can get them on sale for cheap.TBH, these would probably work best in a zoo setting, where you needed a wireless night vision watching an animal in a small enclosure or house, and you need to keep tabs on its health, behavior, or offspring. Because having something big and bulky, with a bunch of wires can be very difficult to work with over a pi camera hooked up to a Pi Zero W that feeds a video signal wirelessly to another computer. So I might use them for that. But who knows.

Works so far. It's the 5MP camera, so not the newer one, but for CV or security recording it works fine. It doesn't come with the focus adjustment tool, but you can use the same one from the official Pi camera. The cable for the Zero is a little thin, but I think that might be required from the mechanical design of the Zero's camera connector.

It works like it should. the camera focus works very well mounted on a moving bed the image stays focused and sharp. It is only a 5 mp but works better than the standard v2 pi camera in my printer. For the price and quality you get the most bang for your buck

Only beef is that their ribbon cable socket is just a hair bigger than others, making it not fit in some cases that have retainer tabs that are very close to the width of the tensioner. Great picture, fast response, decent CCD, from the look of it.

Works great. Streaming might be a bit 'laggy' Nice that the LED is configurable, and comes with a PI and a PiZero cable
