This door & window sensor works amazingly well with Home Assistant.I paird this up to my Pi running home assistant via a ZigBee conbee stick & it's yet to let me done. It's a really small sensor so perfect for hiding away on the side of a window or door frame. The double sticky tap on the back makes super quick the install & pairing up to your ZigBee hub is a breeze, it was found instantly on mine. It provides accurate results when opening and closing the door allowing for my automations to run flawlessly.Great value for money!

Installation was a breeze, with the included adhesive strips making it easy to set up without any tools. The sensor integrates flawlessly with the Aqara Hub and other smart home platforms like Apple HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. I receive instant notifications on my phone whenever a door or window is opened, giving me peace of mind whether I’m at home or away. The responsiveness is impressive, with no noticeable delays in alerts.Battery life is exceptional, and the sensor has been reliably functioning for months without needing a replacement. Its energy-efficient design ensures long-term use, making it a low-maintenance yet highly effective security solution.Overall, the Aqara Door and Window Sensor is a must-have for anyone looking to enhance their home security with a reliable, easy-to-install, and smart solution. Great sensor for the door and works with Apple Home.
Great sensor for doors and windows. I’ve grabbed two of these so far and work perfectly for what they are intended. The speed to my phone for notifications is great. Simple and easy to install and sticks well. Great value for money.

Flawless integration with Apple HomeKit
The Aqara door and window contact sensors are a reliable and affordable solution for home security.I found them easy to install and configure and they worked straight of the bat with HomeKit. I have attached them to my front door as a security measure and it is great to receive instant notifications when the door is opened. At night time my Aqara camera - which serves as the hub - sounds an alarm upon opening the door. This has proven very useful on a few occasions. :-)For me the compact design and long battery life make them a practical choice. However, there seems to be a range limitation which might be a drawback in larger homes or buildings. This could be solved by adding an additional hub I suppose.Overall, the Aqara contact sensors offer great value for money and peace of mind. Will definitely purchase more!

Great, when it works
Could be location, could be interference but when it’s working it’s quick and effective. Mine just seems to drop off every now and then, repairing takes ages and is really tricky. If you’re happy with tech you can live with it, but for a non-tech it would be a pain.Size, function and quality all seem top notch. Mine is paired with a Samsung SmartThings hub, no Aquara hub needed.

Small and integrates very well
On a mission to replace all of my Z Wave sensors and controllers in my home assistant installation. On my doors I previously had the sensitive Z wave strips which were extremely slim line and worked very robustly and very consistently. Was a bit worried that these items were going to be a bit too chunky and large when sitting on the exterior of the door, but actually they sit there quite nicely and after a day or two you don't really notice them.Respond extremely quickly actually much quicker than the sensitive Z wave strips.I now have quite a few Aqua components in my home assistant instal and they all work extremely well never had any dramas.Recommended A+

Promise to upgrade was broken.
Aqara promised that an upgrade for the firmware on this sensor would unlock its additional features. This was way back when the sensor first released, and they still advertise that to this day. They said an Aqara M3 hub would be needed in order to get the updated firmware, and access the additional settings and features, leading users to buy the M3 Hub I imagine. The M3 Hub started showing up in December of 2023, and still here we are over a year and a half later without a firmware update for the sensor. Aqara ignores any requests for details on why there's no update.Without the update, the sensor has no configuration options. It can be seen within the Aqara app, and within your preferred Smart Home Ecosystem. This means there's no tamper protection as advertised, and the button on the sensor cannot be configured, so has no function whatsoever.Battery life is good by the looks of it. I've had it over a year and haven't had to replace the battery at all.I can't really recommend these to most people sadly. I feel like Aqara has miss lead consumers with this promise to add the additional functions, but hasn't followed through.
