The camera itself is pretty cool and is able to take decent footage. The small touchscreen is not the easiest to use, but manageable however if you're someone that messes with the ISO, frame rate, est...that screen takes a lot of swipes to get there. Battery life, also OK, I didn't test it but it seems to drain pretty fast. The USB cover will eventually break off and you'll either live with it or pay around twenty bucks to replace. Honestly, I don't trust that this thing can go into salt water and not have some moisture entry...I wouldn't submerse it as the seals don't seem tight to me. It has a steep learning curve, so not for the "lazy" or non-technical. The quality of the videos are OK and good for armatures, but if this were for professional use, I'd go higher end.The glass "lenses" are exposed in a scary way, so you're going to want to get a guard when storing. Scratching that lens will put a "smudge" right in the center of viewing. I added one of those after-market lens shields, and it adds an aberration to the stitching and if they are not perfect (the smallest blemish in manufacturing in the guards) they will show up in your videos. So I guess if you're going to go with a lens shield, shell out the money and go with the authentic Insta360 one as I assume their quality is better than "no-name" and won't have imperfections like mine. So chose your pain, having the lens exposed to damage, or guarded with aberrations/smudges.Ok, the experience with the software is horrible. The desktop application is pretty stripped of all the cool effects (called "stories") and I wonder if that's to push you into getting Adobe Premiere? If you want the effects, you'll be using the phone apps, which is horrible unless if you have an iPad (which I don't) or a high end iPhone/Android with a huge screen and powerful processor/memory. It connects via Bluetooth/WiFi to edit and add the effects (which are neat), but the connectivity will sometimes drop and kill your progress. Also, if you have a smaller screen or less powerful phone the experience is oh so dreadful.So it is a neat piece of technology, but why is the desktop application not have the "Story" functions? A Mac or my PC would have a better workflow in editing and breeze thru the edits/effects and be more stable than my experience right now...maybe there is some cloud computing going on or maybe a deal with Adobe? Putting all the great functions only on the phone app just makes the experience tedious. So if you get this cam, be sure you have an iPad or Adobe Premiere because otherwise you are in a world of hurt and frustration that shouldn't be the case.

After several days of playing around:1. Image stabilization is perfect, stitching quite good, but user's interface is a little non-intuitive.2. In settings: Drop-down scrolling is not adjusted ergonomically, so it's hard to select an option. There's also a bug, so every time after switching off/on, recording options are random and must be readjusted, otherwise it's easy to ruin the whole recording session.3. Editing software Studio 2021 also has a lot of bugs, luckily not fatal, so they can be avoided with certain care, but it makes the editing process uncomfortable.4. User's manual is too poor, almost unusable.5. However, the results are excellent, camera works great and it is probably the best one on the market at this moment.

I use this camera to document GA airplane travel. Because of the 360 recording capacity it eliminates the need to have multiple cameras in the cockpit.The video quality and stability is great and the camera and editing application are easy to use. The instruction manuals may not be very advanced but there are plenty of YouTube videos to provide support.I am thinking of buying at least one more camera. The battery lasts longer than a GoPro camera, well over 1 hr.

This worked perfectly for my Mother in Law on her recent trip to Turkey. She said it was easy to use and takes beautiful shots.

It was great, wonderful. Quite an improvment, especially the blending of the two lenses.

360 videos tend to be short anyway due to memory constraints but the device does get hot. Keep that in mind if you're planning on using it for outdoor activities where it gets hot. Also, make sure you have guards for both lenses.
