Excellent Jason Figure from a So-So Friday
I have to admit right off that I won't be able to give this figure from Jason Goes to Hell a particularly fair or in-depth review, as I have not removed it from its carded and plastic packaging. Therefore, I won't be able to discuss the figure's articulation, display characteristics, or anything like that. It's simply cool to have in my collection. I'm sure that by most collectors' standards, I have what could only be called a very meager assortment of action figures, mostly from horror/sci-fi, and a few action movies. But the few I do have, are intact in their original packaging. I do this for two reasons. One is that while I enjoy having them, I am far too old to want to take them out to play with (though creating dioramas is always a tempting scenario), and I really don't mind displaying them unopened. That leads me to my second reason, and that is they are FAR easier to clean and take care of when they are unopened. Frankly, trying to maintain their value as collectibles for possible resale in the future doesn't come into play for me. I simply enjoy having these figures for my own satisfaction, and have no intention of parting with them. All that aside, I do feel that this is an excellent representation of Jason as far as the 7 inch action figure range goes. Obviously modeled on Kane Hodder's Jason, I feel it is one of the most detailed and accurate Jason figures in that size range. As a casual Friday fan, I wanted to add a small Jason figure to my collection, and this one fit the bill from both a price and appearance aspect. During my search, I found most other Jason figures to be WAY overpriced (at least for me). This one from Jason Goes to Hell was, by far, the most reasonably priced one I could find, and it looks great! Perhaps it's not as collectible as some Jason figures, as it comes from a Friday film that is not generally regarded as one of the better ones. I liked the film okay (Jason's actual physical appearance in the film is quite limited), but I love the figure! In all, an excellent investment if you can find one reasonably priced. Like most other collectibles, this one will most likely go up in value as the available supply becomes depleted. Recommended for its detail, accuracy, and overall appearance, as well as its (current) value/bang for the buck.

A good figure, but little action. Please buy it though.
The figure itself seems very close to the Jason suit from The Final Friday. For that film Kane Hodder wore a full body rubber suit. The details seem right to me. The colors of his clothes are a little off. He appears to be a painted a uniform dark green. In the film he wore, for the first time, a blue shirt, the usual gray pants, whichlook a little brown in some scenes, the usual boots and a wide belt with a large buckle. The figure has twobigger problems the ball/socket waist joint is too long, creating a wide gap between upper body and the waist.the inner lip of the lower part is almost always visible, unless he is bent over. The other problem, and this goes for most movie/horror figures of the day, is that the knees and hips do not move. Leaving out these joints makes the figure look more like the real thing, which is good. But the movement is very limited. The neck and arms are very well jointed. The mask is a separate piece that is permanently glued on and hehas no face. This is true to the movie, in which his mask was imbedded in his face and never came off.The extras are all great. The standard machete. The "Hell Baby" or "Demon Jason" as it is called here is included and it is a very nice "second figure". Well done. The infamous "Magic Dagger" is included, but looks a little too small to me. Though I am certainly willing to concede that I may be wrong about this detail.Jason's heart is included. Its nice and red. I think I will add a splatter of black "blood" with my paints. What should have been included is a second head. In the film, Jason's mask is pretty standard looking during the films prologue and has a crack and bullet hole in it at the climax of the film. The toy has both. A second interchangeable, un-cracked mask head should have been included.Other possibilities for extras include Jasons severed head and body parts from the FBI sequence of the film.No such luck. A shovel wpould have been a nice idea too since this is the only weapon used in the films final battle (plus I need a shovel for my collection and the Jason Lives figure did not have one either). Why not include some or one of the "movie props" placed in the Voorhees house (in the film) by the villain of the picture. The Evil Dead Necronomicon was seen and the "Julia Carpenter arctic expedition" crate from Creepshow. The book would have been nice at least.Despite my musings, I would still recommend this toy to any Friday fan. But you might want to get out the paints. And you might want to drill a small hole in his chest for the dagger to stick into. There is a nice small hole already sculpted into the shirt front if you choose to do this.Either way, buy this figure!!
