Sleep Creations Aerus Natural 2-1/2-Inch Memory Foam Mattress Topper with Cover, Queen

Product was highly compressed in a rather heavy box. When allowed to expand its surface was slightly sticky and self-adhesive but did expand as advertised. However its alleged slight scent was quite strong. It was not hard for two people to wrestle it into its cover. But even after four days of lying on the living room floor it was still strongly giving off some kind of chemical fumes. Even in the living room it could be smelled in the bedroom. Whatever this "harmless" chemical is I am afraid to try to sleep on it with my face right next to it and my low grade asthma does not like it at all. After reflection I have removed the cover, (which caused an entire new wave of strong scent) in the hopes it will eventually lose the scent it has already picked up, and can be salvaged and used with a cheap and simple egg crate foam pad inside. I did try lying on the topper on the floor while it still had its cover on and it did provide decent padding, but the smell was unacceptable.Perhaps this is an argument for purchasing some things in a local store face to face where such "features" can be discovered before purchase, which you might find personally unacceptable. Whatever it is outgassing is undocumented except for the assurance that it should be gone in 72 hours, which it most certainly was not, and is "harmless" which it may in fact be. But for me the dumpster is a much safer place for this to just get it out of the condo. Simpler than trying to recompress it and ship its considerable weight back for some kind of refund, at least for me.

My foam mattress topper came in the mail last week. It was noticeably less dense than my older 3lb density memory foam. It was kind of crumbly.It did NOT come with the bamboo cover that I purchased. Rather, it came with a cotton half-cover (kind of like a fitted sheet).My boyfriend and I were not sleeping well on the mattress without any topper. I will say that this topper makes it slightly easier to sleep, but not much; and I know it will not last long becuase it is not very dense and seems cheaply made. If I return it, we are back to the old naked mattress and the hassle of shopping for something else, to say nothing of shoving this topper into a box and hauling it off to some drop box.I think Amazon Warehouse and/or Foamex KNOWINGLY sells misrepresented items that are of far lesser value than what the purchaser agreed to buy. I think they then count on scores of people being too busy to return the items. I am not sure of this becuase (to be fair) I have not yet put it to the test by attempting to get my full refund plus shipping, or my repalcement, or a refund of the difference in cost between the item I agreed to purchase and the item I actually received. When I do try this, I will see how the company responds.Seriously, what if I had a booth at some market, and I had a display of watches, and you approached me and asked to buy a watch. Then say you pointed to the one you wanted, handed over the money, and I pulled a different watch of much lesser value out from a drawer and handed it to you in exchange? What kind of a buffoon would you have to be to just say "Oh, OK" and walk off? And what kind of a thief would I have to be to tell you the deal was sealed, and refuse to refund your money? And even if I did refund your money, won't I have just wasted your time? So that is the scenario here. So far my best bet is having wasted much time and effort. We will see if Amazon can make it better.I will post an update.

I have had several memory foam toppers before and I like this one the bestIt does have a little bit of a smell when you first get it, but nothing like as bad as my other one and also airs out more quickly and is less offensive.Maybe a little cooler than my other memory foam toppers, but not noticeably - (winter right now, test will come in the summer).Cover is nice idea (and one reason I bought it - without a cover, these toppers are unmanageable and easy to damage) but the zipper was broken. Company was super in sending replacement - fast and responsive . However - the cover is a TIGHT fit and memory foam is heavy so a better zipper should be part of the design from the start - this one is very flimsy. I would not recommend at the current $300+ but I got a very good deal somehow and would recommend highly at half that. The prices on this fluctuate a l lotI bought higher density foam hoping it would be a little firmer, but it is still pretty soft - however very comfortable

We are thrilled with this topper! My husband purchased a firm latex mattress after sleeping on my pillow top bed for 2 years that was giving him back pain. He loved it, but I was miserable. I asked if we could try a topper that was the best of both worlds. It's very comfortable for both of us. We thought the 2 1/2 inch would be great, not too thin or too thick. It's a perfect fit for our queen size bed. The bamboo cover is very soft and luxurious. It has enough firmness, but cushions your body perfectly. The BEST nights sleep. We are definitely recommending to all of our friends and family. There was a scent that was strong initially, but tapered down after a few hrs. It didn't bother us at all. Easy to set up, just place the zippered cover on the bed and gently unroll on the bed. I was able to do it on my own, but not a bad idea to have an extra set of hands. The only problem now is that we don't want to leave our bed. Ever!!!*UPDATE* 1/15/17Almost 6 years later and still feels the same as the first night we tried it!! So comfortable and we still don't want to leave our bed!!We recently purchased the Malouf Zone Talalay Latex pillow, really can't recommend this topper/pillow combo enough, especially for a heavenly sleep!!! What a difference this topper has made for our rest time, and has endured children and pets too! Great product!!!
