Known to many as Lapsang Souchong, we at Yezi like to call our Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, "I can't believe it's not scotch," for this tea's warming effects are truly an experience to behold. Hailing from the famed Wuyi Mountains, Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong leaves are smoked over wood, giving the tea wonderful complexity. With notes of cinnamon, chestnuts, and fruit, it's no wonder that this is our most popular black tea. You may wonder why our black tea labels are red in color, or why we call it Red tea on a package. Our tea is directly sourced from local farmers in China and Taiwan, where black teas are commonly referred to as red teas. In China, tea that has been fermented such as Pu'erh is called black tea. However, as Shakespeare might have said, A black tea by any other name will taste just as good. Enjoy!
