Fantastic for teachers & families of young children!
As a kindergarten teacher I just LOVE this book for so many reasons!! It’s wonderful for children to learn the expectations of school and listening to adults. The book also shows the softer side to let the children know they are not bad kids just because they made a mistake. All children have experiences they learn from and this is a fabulous book to let them know what they are going through is normal and it will all work out in the end!

An excellent book for young children going to school.
This children’s book has a wonderful message for children beginning their school career. It is very difficult for children to settle in when they start kindergarten and to learn to listen and this author does a great job of getting the message across. The books graphics are so much fun to o see while reading the story. The expressions on the children’s faces are priceless. I highly recommend this book if you have young children in school.

Fantastic book!!
Katie hits it out of the park again with another beautifully written and illustrated book. This book perfectly captures the struggle of transitioning to kindergarten and why it is important to be a good listener. My kids usually have a hard time sitting still for books but this one captured their attention from beginning to end. It’s a new household favorite for our night time reading!

Relatable story for kids starting school
The story is relatable for kids starting preschool or kindergarten. It introduces first day of school jitters in an unique way. The star of the story is Joseph's mom who is compassionate and understanding and patient.

Learn to listen.
It's hard to stop doing something when you are really focused on it. Still, you have to listen to others if you want to succeed. You also have to consider how you would feel if people didn't listen when you said something. You might think they didn't care what they had to say - even if that is absolutely false. Sure, each one of us get a little too focused on something every once in a while. That doesn't make us bad people: it just means we need to pay more attention to what is happening around us - especially when someone is trying to talk to us.Joseph is trying to be a good student: he isn't trying to ignore his teacher. Since the teacher is there to help him learn, she tries to make it easier for Joseph to listen to her. What do you think she does to help Joseph listen better? Does it work? Read this story to find out. The illustrations will draw your attention, but remember to listen to what the story is telling you.

Paying attention and listening
Joseph is so excited to start school but finds out you need to listen and pay attention. Thanks to a good teacher Joseph learns a valuable lesson. The illustrations are wonderful. I had a bit of a hard time reading some of the pages because of the background and size of the font on the e-book. I would recommend this book.

Book with a lesson!
In this book, Joseph, like many young kids, struggles to always listen when needed. The book gives good examples and shows how he gets better. Encouraging book to remind young kids to listen!
