Very pretty but defective
This is a beautiful water bottle, but mine must be defective because it doesn't take away the bad smell or taste of my city water. I have started the return process. Thankfully, Amazon always stands behind the products sold here.

Excellent UV Water Bottle...Well Constructed
I'm an engineer and I purchased this water bottle for my wife when we go backpacking. This water bottle is designed in the US and manufactured in China, in my opinion, that's the best combination, design and specification is the US. The bottle came packaged quite nicely and presents well should you be giving this as a gift in a really nice box with a magnetic closure. The bottle itself has what appears to be an outer wrap on it, much better than paint...Why?, well, if you tear or scratch the wrap you can just pull it off, you can't necessarily do that with paint, so I like this. To continue, the bottle itself, as you would imagine, is an evacuated hollow core insulated type made from 304 stainless steel allow with a rubber base to prevent it from sliding on smooth surfaces. Now to the "active" parts of the bottle, the lid is where all the magic happens, the top of the bottle has a self contained UV light, battery and control switch as well as charging port which is USB-C. Further, the outer ring of the top can be flipped up as you can see in the picture for a nice hanger, to more easily carry it around or perhaps attach it to a pack via a D-ring. While charging, a nice glowing green light illuminates indicating charge and to turn on the UV "action" (typical disinfection time 90 seconds) you simply press the button in the center of the top, extremely easy and straightforward. For the build quality, ease of operation and purely automatic operations to maintain water disinfection this is a really nice UV water bottle.

Pretty, functional, expensive...
The media could not be loaded. This is a unique purifying water bottle. It's pretty, with an attractive flowery plastic cladding/skin. It's high tech: the bottle's UV purifier is powered by a rechargeable (via included USB-C cord) li-ion battery. It's capable of carrying a full 24 ounces--most UV purifying bottles lose significant capacity to the UV purifier. This thing is well though-out. It's kind of elegant, and they know it--the box it comes in presents this bottle like it's a fine bottle of wine or a work of art or an Apple product. And the attention to detail continues into practical matters. For instance, you can't get the UV light in your eyes because the light won't turn on if the bottle's lid is unscrewed.Overall, a really fine piece of kit for campers and those needing to be sure there are no organisms in their water. The only negative is the price, but I kind of think it's worth it. It's just that good.

Sanitizes and keeps drinks hot or cold.
This UV sanitizing, insulated water bottle works just as advertised. One touch of the top and the UV light in the center of the top lights for 90 seconds. It then automatically runs for 90 seconds, again every four hours until interrupted. For water that is presumably less clean, touch the top twice to turn the UV light on for 180 seconds. For many people, water bottles are filled, emptied and refilled without much thought to what bacteria may be growing in the bottle. This UV light bottle makes sure the bottle remains sanitary, even when the user forgets to periodically wash it out. Even better, for hiking, where the water source may be a stream, this is the way to avoid E. coli and other bacteria that may (probably) lurk in that clear looking water. Running the long cleaning cycle takes care of those unseen bacteria.I don't have a microscope to check for the prevalence of bacteria before and after activating the UV light, so honestly don't know how well they work. I'm going on the manufacturer's attestations. The other aspect of the bottle is its thermal capability. I filled the bottle with chilled water from our refrigerator tap about 3:00 P.M. yesterday and checked about 10:00 this morning. The water was still very cold, so it definitely passes the "keep things cold" test. The opening at the top is almost two inches in diameter, larger than many water bottles. This isn't important to most people, but if it is important, now you know.
