Highly Unreliable Clock/Alarm with Poor Design and Build Quality. Literally save your time (and money).
I unfortunately purchased this for a 10-day trip where I would be needing a reliable travel clock multiple times per day. I was skeptical of the brand name (Pluteck???), cheap price, and how there are many other cheap carbon copies on Amazon, but was ultimately swayed as this was listed as Amazon's Choice, had many mostly positive reviews, and appreciated the clean, simple design. I HIGHLY REGRET this purchase and have outlined the problems with this clock in order of severity -- FATAL Flaws, MAJOR Flaws, and MINOR Flaws.FATAL FLAWS: The two most important aspects of a clock -- and especially, an alarm -- are 1) Reliability and 2) Accuracy. This clock has neither.1) UNRELIABILITY: Experienced 2 MAJOR FAILURES in 10 DAYS = 20% FAILURE RATE. Unacceptable. That's playing Russian Roulette that 1 out of 5 work days you won't wake up on time and will be late. Sometime before the 6th morning of my trip, the clock fell behind by 1.5 hours, thus the alarm went off 1.5 hours late and did not wake me up at my desired time, causing me to miss a very important meeting. Thinking it may have been a battery issue (which would have been terrible battery performance for a low-powered clock), I replaced the battery, only to find the clock completely stopped for over 2 hours early afternoon on the 8th day of my trip. When I went over to the clock to further inspect, it suddenly came to life and started working again when I picked it up off the table.2) ACCURACY: When the clock seemed to be working fine, I noticed the clock would slip behind by anywhere from 5-10 minutes over a period of several days. It got to the point where I was re-syncing the clock with an atomic clock in the building every single day just to be sure I had the right time.MAJOR FLAW: Poor Alarm.Setting the alarm is cleverly simple in design but terrible in execution, likely due to cheap and inaccurate parts. When setting the alarm to go off at a time that was not a full hour (i.e., 7:30, 7:45), I had issues with the alarm going off up to 20 minutes too early or too late. It worked accurately only 90% of the time when setting an alarm at a half hour (i.e., 5:30, 8:30), and maybe 50% of the time when setting an alarm at a quarter hour (i.e., 7:15, 7:45). The accuracy only seemed to be fine when setting an alarm at a whole hour (i.e., 7:00, 8:00).MINOR FLAWS: Terrible Build QualityFrom far, this clock is handsome with a simple, timeless design and is sized just right. Up close, however, you will see signs of terrible build quality. The paint on the hour and minute hands were all chipped/scraped up on the edges, and the base of the prominent yellow second hand -- the center of the clock -- had major paint imperfections including what appeared to be raised dust particles or shrapnel trapped in the paint. The cut-out in the face of the clock where the hands meet also had a very large gap with very rough edges including dangling pieces of the face in the cutout. In addition, any light touch of the time-setting knob in the back of the clock will result in the entire time-keeping components jiggling around, including moving the clock hands by an entire tick-mark on the clock.

Great little alarm
This was a perfect replacement for my old clock radio (broken speaker, so only good for reading time) and MP3 player (used for the alarm). I bought it in March '17 for $12.99.It is unobtrusive, quiet, and easy too find in suburban semi-darkness at night. The hands are easy to read. The "luminescent" paint on the hands doesn't really work, but it makes the hands far easier to read. So far I've never found anyone's backlight to be better than Timex's Indiglo. The dial light looks very different than the pictures I saw on the Amazon product page. The single LED is bright white, but lights up the dial very well indeed.I've had it for a month now and it keeps perfect time. This means that their quartz crystal supplier s reliable and they handle the crystal with due care in assembly. Don't know how long the battery lasts yet.The only reasons I took away one star are fairly minor.1) The nightlight button makes the LED flicker unless you depress is just right2) The LED in the upper right corner shines in your eyes. For me that means I can't see anything at al, soo I have to put my thumb over the LED when I use it. Looking for something paste over the LED.My only regret about buying this a month ago is that it's on sale for 6 bucks off today. Oh, well.

Works great - keeps proper time and wakes me up in the morning
This was what I was looking for! I haven't noticed any noise or sounds coming from the clock other than the alarm at the correct time. Setting the alarm time is a slight bit of challenge due to making an adjustment on a rectangular face but this was totally expected and really not an issue for me. This clock was a replacement for a similar clock that lasted me for over 20 years. I really believed that I will get the same amount of service from this one. It's just so simple and I don't have to worry if the power goes out and I need to wake up. I am pleased with this clock.Update on this clock, Not a major issue as most everything is great with this clock. It works great, the alarm is plenty loud and it does keep perfect time. With that said, I've noticed that the hour hand is off. At 12:00 the hour hand is not at the 12:00 position. If it were the minute hand it would be positioned at the 57-58 minute position. Because of this positioning I sometimes have look twice to make I'm not misreading the time. A very small issue, and you do have to accept bit of skewed hand positioning since the numbers are rectangular involved in a circular rotating operation.I was thinking that I might be able to adjust the hand positioning by pulling the battery and rotating the hand for several revolutions but this didn't work.I would buy this same clock, as a replacement, if this clock ever failed so I am still very pleased with it.

okay
1. It's way smaller than I expected, but I really like that. It fits in your hand.2. It definitely does have a ticking sound, since it's analog. It's faint, but in the middle of the night you can hear the second hand running.3. My biggest issue with this clock is the volume increases. When it first goes off, it only gives you a couple seconds before it gets really loud. I have to rush to turn it off so I won't bother everyone in the house, which I don't like. If there's a way to change this I haven't been able to figure it out. However, I do love the design and it does do its job, so it's alright. It's also super easy to set your alarm.

Did make a bit of a noise
I wanted a clock without a tick. I am a very light sleeper and I did notice the slightest ticking noise with this clock. I could only hear it in the middle of the night when my house was very quiet and I was near the clock. The light function was super handy and easy to use.
