John Pawson: Plain Space Hardcover – October 20, 2010

This book was given to our architect and the review from him was very enthusiatic. He felt one of Pawson' s genuis was keeping tension between what is needed and not. The spaces in this book are varied and beautiful, a must buy if you like modern design. The detailed layouts of all the projects was interesting and a nice touch.

For fans of Pawson's work this book is a bit lacking in imagery. More homes would've been nice to have had included in this compendium which features a combination of sacred, domestic, and institutional spaces. The sailboats were a bit of a waste for me, but are in keeping with Pawson's stripped down aesthetic and minimal design.

Excellent overview of the work of a man who employs rigorous simplicity as a guiding principal in his designs, giving them a timeless quality. The book is written in an easy to read manner by a writer close to the subject. A must for those interested in good modern design.

For the fans of JP: this is a great book.Alison Morris knows a lot of JP.Pictures of high quality.The only question for fans is: why not more?Fans have to wait for the next book....

because i like the work of john pawson who i think is one of the best architect in the world.i recomend this book to the people who love beauty and simplicity at the same time

ポーソンさんの作品集を買うにあたって、El Croquisとどちらがいいかなと見比べましたが、こちらの方がポーソンさんの抽象的な建築にあったすっきりしたデザインの編集なのでよいと思いました。表紙もきれいですし、中の写真も大きさ、質ともに満足できるものと思います。ちなみにEl CroquisはA4サイズより若干でかく収納場所に困るため、非常に有益な雑誌ですが他に選択肢があれば私はあまり買わないことにしています。
