Simple, low cost, highly effective - excellent product.
I used this kit to clean and remove BR40 flood light incandescent bulbs (replaced with BR30 LED bulbs). I combined it with a 4-8 ft. extension pole (Mr Longarm 9248 Twist-Lok Extension Pole) and was easily able to change bulbs in a 14ft. ceiling (no ladder required). The suction cup was fairly strong on both types of bulbs... I never felt like I was going to lose a bulb. I like that the suction cup is large and reinforced. I also like that the device has a threaded end and features a metal screw for easily mounting to poles & keeping the device secure. The metal suction release feels sturdy and the pull string is easy to operate - it doesn't take much force to dislodge the suction cup from a bulb. Once I got the hang of working with the suction cup, changing a bulb in the ceiling took less than 2 minutes. The new BR30 bulbs I was using were pretty slick. After some of the new bulbs were screwed in, the suction cup would start to slip a bit on the bulb heads... this wasn't a worry though because I could feel the bulbs planted in their sockets. To be 100% sure the bulbs were fully seated, I simply re-attached the device and gently tried to screw in the bulbs further. I never felt like the bulbs were in danger of dropping. I think this was likely due to the brand of bulbs I was using. All in all, this is a simple, low cost and highly effective bulb changing (and cleaning) kit. It saved me from getting on a ladder to change bulbs in a high ceiling. Well done.

Ingenious! Incredibly effective!
When I first saw this item, I felt cheated. $13 for a suction cup with a loop attached and a spool of thread? After using this item to change 12 flood lights from the ground, I understand it’s genius. The fact the it includes the hardware that can attach to a broom handle mean storage is a non-issue. I can keep it on the shelf in a tiny box next to my spare light bulbs. Its super easy to install on a broomstick. The suction allows it to create a surprisingly strong hold on the light bulbs. This hold was strong enough to not only change the 12 bulbs, but to allow me to twist some bulbs that were stuck in their recessed cans (after not being changed for 20+ years). The thread and loop mechanism combine to create an effective mechanism for releasing the bulb from the suction cup while on the ground. The use on the suction cup, in general, allows for the easy changing of bulbs in narrow recessed cans (no struggling to get your fingers around the bulb).I highly recommend this product. It allowed me to change 12 hard to reach bulbs in about 45 minutes. One thing I would note: It seems the bulb change requires a slightly narrower-than-average broom handle. Aside from that, I have nothing negative to say about this product.

Worked much better than I expected
I would recommend this light bulb changer to any one of my friends or family. It worked far better than I thought it would. I just used it to replace 4 BR30 floodlights on a 20 foot high ceiling with can lights. I changed all 4 bulbs in less time than it would have taken me just to move my big step ladder into that room like I used to when changing those bulbs by hand. I'm impressed. This thing is simple and it works.I didn't buy the extension pole because I already have 3 extension poles all with different size threads. This device actually fit my biggest pole threads perfectly. However, it also works on my other two extension poles because there is a thumb screw that holds it on the extension pole threads no matter what size the threads are so it can easily be used with any pole.It comes with a cleaning cloth that you can put over the suction cup in case you need to clean the bulb to get the suction cup to stick to it. Two of the bulbs I replaced were 11 years old and this thing stuck to them great with no cleaning necessary. I'm not sure I would ever need to use the cleaning cloth but it's there if needed. There is a string that clips on the edge of the suction cup that you can pull on to get the suction cup to release. The string is easily long enough for my 20 foot ceiling with extra string to spare. It even comes with a sting holder that you can roll up the string on and secure it with a Velcro tie they give you so the sting doesn't get tangled between uses.I don't know how this compares to their competition but I do know that it's simple, it works great, and the cost is better than anything I could get in the local hardware and home stores.

Pricey for a suction cup, but works well
Little pricey for a suction cup, but it is soft and pliable, creating a good grasp on the bulb, small enough for BR20 bulbs, and releases easy. Note that it is just the pole tip mechanism and does not have the extension with it. Bottom line is it works as it should, and makes changing the bulbs very easy.

Works really well!
I have an open breakfast area, the ceilings are 20ft with four old 90's style recessed lights. We plan to switch to LED, but can't update for a while. The lightbulbs burned out and it was really quite annoying for when I wanted the lights on. This little light bulb changer worked great to remove the old lights and replace new ones. It is a little wobbly when it's fully extended, but once it's suctioned to the light it works easily and quickly. I wiped off the old lights with a little windex on the microfiber cloth and the suction cup grabbed right on. It was easy to maneuver and worth the cost.

Works well
I’m a 74 year old woman and I didn’t want to bother my neighbours to bring a high ladder up the stairs to reach a high ceiling to change a light bulb. I found this gadget and it was perfect. I screwed it on an existing extendable pole I had then I used the little white cover first to clean the bulb as they instructed. Then I attached the clip with the string for pulling down the suction cup and raised the pole and pushed gently on the bulb and turned it (Had to say to myself - righty tighty- lefty lucy so I could remember which way to screw it) to unscrew it and pulled gently and brought the pole down. Then I pushed the new bulb on the suction cup and raised the bulb to the socket.. Only took a few turns. Just pulled gently on the string to release the suction cup and voila it is in and working perfectly now. So easy anyone can do it.

Returned
I have a 14’ ceiling in my kitchen and no ladder that I had would reach up to the ceiling to change the pot-lights so I thought that I could use this option. Sadly they didn’t mention that it doesn’t work with all types of pot-lights so I had to return it. I guess most updated pot-lights have a rim that needs to be removed before the lightbulb can be replaced. As a result, this type of device doesn’t do the trick. The extension pole was way more expensive than it should have been in my opinion and to make it worse, I had to pay an extra, non-refundable customs charge. An expensive mistake, hope this helps you avoid making the same one I did. Make sure you know if this device will work on your specific pot-lights before purchasing!

Awesome!
Worked perfectly. I bough the changer to change an indoor flood light bulb about 10 feet over a stairwell railing.Note: Be sure to use the cleaning pad first on both bulbs (the old and new). I took a damp paper towel and wetted the suction cup prior to using it. I tried the new bulb in the suction cup at the floor level, it was very strong. Excellent product!

Suction doesn't work
I noted another review mention problems with the suction not really working, but took a chance anyway as most other reviews were positive. I've experienced the same issue, it just doesn't grip the bulb so removing bulbs at a height is precarious as you have to carefully balance them on top as you lower them.I even tryied placing different GU10 bulbs right in the middle by hand, but none grabbed.
