works well, despite the horrible instruction manual. a must have for a watch collector

Great to check the health of your caliber, regulate the movement, and it's just plain fun. I have a vintage omega seamaster 300M, among a few other omegas. I had it serviced recently after it stopped working. It took omega 3 months before it was done. They included a sheet stating that it was regulated to +4 seconds, a day, within cosc standards. I was excited to open it up and picked it up on the cushion, which was top heavy, and promptly dropped it. Felt like I fumbled the ball on the goal line with seconds on the clock. I set the time and put it in my watch case, came back 24 hours later and it lost 10 seconds. I tried setting it face down, 24 hours later it was another 11 seconds slow. I only wear it a couple of days per week, so I hate it losing so much time while sitting in the case.So I bought this timegrapher. I have an inexpensive watch with a seiko NH35 caliber, which runs 15 seconds fast per day, quite good for a NH35, though had a beat error of 1.1. I practiced regulating that and corrected it to +6 per day with a beat error of .2. I then checked the omega on the timegrapher, and it turns out that the average of the 6 positions is +4. It just has significant variation in the different positions. I discovered that if I leave it at a 45 degree angle between face up and 12 down, that it only runs +2 per day. So that is how I store it in my case, and everything is fine now. The amplitude, btw, is averages a great 300. If I hadn't gotten this, I would have lived forever with a watched that I believed to be slow, and be cursing myself about my fumble.

Easy to setup and use

Very easy to setup. Excellent display. Buyers would appreciate a complete users guide since most of us are novices.

Works well and easy to setup

Great way to test mechanical watches for accuracy and to see if they are in need of service.

Very Useful Device If You're Into Mechanical Watches

I've recently started accumulating mechanical/automatic watches and, while some of the watches arrived keeping excellent time, others were not so much. With the aid of the Timegrapher I've managed to get six watches from being off by unacceptable amounts (more that 20 seconds per day fast or slow) to less than three seconds per day fast.It is worth keeping in mind that some watch backs are hard to remove, some watch movements require adjustment (which is much more complicated than simply moving the beat rate lever), and it is easy to destroy a movement if you touch the hair spring by mistake (don't ask me how I know). The manual that comes with the Timegrapher is rudimentary (to say the least) but there are lots of instructional videos on the Internet.

Watch Timer

Must improve manual. It works but, two watches. Both fast. One shows fast and one shows slow? Auto select not perfect. One shows 18000 and one shows 15000 beat rate.

A needed tool for working on watches

As a hobbyist watchmaker I need this to analyze and service watches. This is a better one, nicer display, larger screen and more options.Works great so far and I expect it to last a long time.

It works.

How much do you want or can you spend?Reviews say the thousand dollar model is more accurate than the cheaper models. How much can you spend?I have the cheaper model, the 1900. It's the best I could afford. If you want/need to check your watch's accuracy on a budget, this is the ticket. If you want better, just saying, hit the hip.

Great timegrapher for watch collectors and hobbyists.

This timegrapher is very easy to use right out of the box. It worked perfectly without even reading the instructions. The default lift angle is 52, you need to input your movements if they are different. The instructions are not perfect, but good enough to explain how to set it up, how to use it, and how to troubleshoot it. Perfect for the watch collector and hobbyist. Accuracy is supposed to be very good, so this might work for professional use as well. Great timegrapher at a great price!
