Rit Dye Perfection Fabric Fixatives (81987)

I had an orange hoodie I wanted to bleach some if it out and bleach wasn’t really removing any of the color. A flight bit😍the shirt was 50/50 cotton/poly I believe. But bleach wasn’t getting it so I gave up and actually had the pocket area of the hoodie looking like poo from trying different things. So I decided heck with it I’ll order them Rit set. I already knew I like the fixative and was in need of more anyway. Price wasn’t bad and I can’t find the color remover anywhere near me to just go buy it. I didn’t want to use a large amount at one time I was trying to put a design in the shirt so I tried mixing a small bowl of it together and btudhed it on. Okn and it Dix take some color out but not completely. I then decided to fix the voucher the epocket and bottoms half by dipping it i into a pan of it on the stove.x. Even though it didn’t completely remove the color. It took it to light enough shade that worked and it fixed the pocket area that I had messed up. I will get it again and try. I want to see how it does with a couple other colors

I bought this Rit dye to use on a pair of black pants that I, in my usual, clumsy fashion, had managed to splash with bleach. To be honest, I was a little bit hesitant about using it, and procrastinated for a week. Eventually, however, I had to take the bullet by the horns and get stuck in.I chose the stove-top method, as I felt that this would give the best results. It also had the greatest potential for something to go wrong, so I planned my strategy to the nth degree. As it turned out, I had worried completely unneccessarily. I used a large stock pot, but any metal container would probably work just as well. In spite of my concerns I didn't manage to splash, spill, or dye myself or the surrounding countertops.I did use a dye-fast product afterwards to ensure that I did't transfer dye from my pants to my bum, or to any soft-furnishings.And that was it! My favorite pants are like new at a fraction of the cost of replacing them. I can foresee many more dying forays in my future!

used the fabric fixative to help set the color of my clothes that I dyed black to refresh the color. should have used it when I got them new.....

Worked as advertised. I followed the directions to the letter and got the desired result.

Works like a charm! Although I would use it on cotton or similar materials only.

GREAT PRODUCT

Product delivered on time and is what I ordered; however, the results of the product were left more to be desired but it lifted the color pretty well.

Doesnt help color to stay into fabric...still washes out
