Blueridge BR-70T Contemporary Series Tenor Guitar

I can highly recommend this model to anyone who wants to give tenor guitars a tryout. It ticks every box - it is both acoustic and electric and has a cutaway to make playing easier. It has a great sound both acoustically and electrically through an amp. The build quality is superb and it represents excellent value for money. I recommend buying the correct case for this guitar at the same time. It is the Golden Gate CT-1511 which is also a very high quality product and fits the guitar like a glove. You will not be disappointed with this guitar. I belong to the Internet discussion group Tenor Guitar Registry and we have many members who have this guitar and all the feedback from owners of Blueridge tenor guitars is positive. I'd been waiting to buy a tenor guitar for quite a while. There are not many available, and a friend told me about his Blueridge BR40T, even let me play it. That model has a spruce top and mahogany back/sides. It sounded good, and I loved the feel of the slim neck in my small hands, because it was easy to play. But I love the tone that rosewood brings, and decided to purchase either the BR60T or the BR 70-T to get the woods that I wanted. Found this BR70T on Amazon, it came with a nice case. Meant to be. I love the sound, it holds a tune beautifully, and the case is study and attractive. I use this guitar to play with a local group of string players, and it holds its own well in the crowd. There are many happy hours of playing ahead of me now! It is a good quality instrument and worth the extra dollars to have the nice abalone accents too.It came with D'addario strings, and I had a choice of tuning it to standard CGDA or DGBE. I chose the latter, because it has the same chord fingers as the top four strings of a 6 string guitar, and my baritone ukulele too.

I'm really enjoying my new tenor. I had one tenor before - the cheap Ibanez one - which was nice as an intro to the instrument. But now that tenor is one of my primary instruments, I figured I'd step up. And what a step-up it is! I'm not big on the bling, so I can take or leave all the shiny bits. But it's a great sounding instrument, makes the Ibanez sound like a toy in comparison. I'm also a big fan of the ukulele-style open minor 7th tuning, but rather than tune like a ukulele, I simply raised the D string up to E, thereby creating an instrument with the same notes as the ukulele, but in a different order (CGEA). I am very pleased with this arrangement - it lets you have an open minor 7th tuning but has a much fuller, richer sound. You have to turn your brain around a little - the lowest two strings are swapped vs a ukulele, so the chord shapes are a bit different, but just as playable.

Well built and nice tone. Minus one star for how hard it is to access the batter ypack for the line out.

Because of late delivery date of this and the case, I was unable to use the instrument while away. Just returned to find the return date expired. Unsatisfactory performance.

This was a gift. I’ve been playing a baritone ukulele, so Ituned this in dgbe. The sound is wonderful, fretboard is great for my small hands. Stays in tune well.
