This oil is nice and lightweight to add a sheen and a bit of control to my hair. In the summer, I like to have a more natural look to my hair. It tends to get frizzy if I don't add a bit of hair product to tame it, especially if it's hot and humid and I perspire. I have coarse hair, so it can be pretty stubborn. It's best to add the control I need before it dries. That way, the curl sets better, which means that it's going to maintain better. My hair also cannot be too soft, so I use something to set it along with this oil. Sometimes I mix this oil with a setting lotion or gel to give my hair additional control.The scent is not bad, but it may be a bit overpowering if too much oil is used. Depending on hair type, the oil may need to be used closer to the ends rather than throughout the hair. I don't care for an oily scalp either, so I avoid getting it too close. The oil can be used when my hair is wet or dry.The heat of the sun can turn your hair to straw. Hair Shine Restoration Oil; 1 ounce; glass jar with pump.This hair oil is a must have on hot humid days. I used it over the weekend when it was very humid and my hair didn't frizz up at all. I have thick, medium length, coarse hair that tends to be a bit dry due to the coloring every 4 weeks and the use of a blow-dryer twice a week, flat iron and curling iron every day.. I've recently stopped washing and only use cleansing conditioner so I was worried that this oil may leave a build-up but it did not. At first I was a bit disappointed by the small size, only one ounce, but a little goes a long way and this will last quite some time, especially considering you don't need it every day as long as you don't wash every day. I used on my wet hair after conditioning and then followed my usual routine, blow-dry, flat iron/curl.
