Due to the different water quality and water consumption of each house, the actual replacement time of the filter element is not consistent. Q: Does this filter out excess salt? I live in a hard water area and have a whole house water softener, so my drinking water can be salty.

Dear Customer, Thanks for your interest in our WD-PF-01A Plus filters. Sorry, we do not recommend our pitchers to filter soft water. Soft water contains a lot of sodium ions. Even though our pitcher can remove part of the sodium ions in the water, sodium ions is still high in the filtered water.
