Bought back in 2010. Never had much luck with this sub! Never seem to have enough power or sound??? Don't know what the problem was! It just took a dive & is now dead! I think this time around I will purchase a name in speakers that can be trusted(Klipsch subwoofer) I did love the look of this subwoofer(PA-10w), but that was my downfall. Beauty is not what you should look for in a sub. The Premier Acoustic PA 10w said it has 500w peak power! That can't be true---If you turned it up over half way you got nothing but distortion. Not a good sound!! Couldn't be the Receiver (New Denon-891) I don't know where all these great reviews came from????

Boom Boom
I first purchased this subwoofer to use in my home made DJ PA. I ended up melting the voice coil at the first party I used it at :( I contacted Premier Acoustic to see if I could buy a replacement driver and they sent me a new plate amplifier AND driver, FREE of charge! That's basically a whole new unit if you know how to build a box. I was very grateful for their fast and awesome customer service. I now use this subwoofer to complement my 2 KRK Rokit 5's in my home recording studio. The crossover and phase options are very nice for studio applications. I recommend this unit!

Great Sub
I never heard of the Premier Accousitc brand until I looked on one of the AV forums. Even there, people barely talked much about any of their products and the PA-120W sub seems to be more popular than this one. However I live in a townhome with a shared wall so I did't exaclty need something that would blow the windows out.I can't stress enough how happy I am with this sub, even on a blind buy. It replaced an old 8" Sony sub I had bought for $150 about 7 years ago. Since this one cost me $200, I was only expecting a moderate improvement. Soon as I opened the box for this thing all I could say was "WOW". The build quality is excellent. The top is a nice piano black finish, the cabinet is very sturdy, and the unit as a whole is very heavy. Basically, it's built like a tank. As for movies, it has not let me down yet. I run a 7.1 system powered by a Yamaha RX-V667 and have tested this sub with a wide range of movies. Some of my recommended movie scenes to see what this thing can really do are; the intro to Top Gun, Transformers 2 where they fight in the forest, Predator the assault on the guerilla camp (especically when Blain fires his minigun), Tron Evolution during the Light Cycle battle, Saving Private Ryan first or last battle. BTW, all those are Blu-Ray copies except Top Gun, but it did have a 6.1 DTS soundtrack and still sounded great. Call of Duty and Mortal Kombat sound great as well if you're into gaming. One word of advice, set the crossover on the sub to max and allow the reciever to handle the LFE crossover. Most reciever manuals say that already, but just incase its good to know because this unit comes with zero instructions. So the verdict, if you are considering this sub it will not let you down. It's a well designed product. Plus if I ever move to a bigger place, buying another PA-10 sub to make a 7.2 system is always an option.

Great sub for the price
I took a chance on the PA-10 on advise of the dealer. For 179.00 delivered it'sa great bargain. Tight, not boomy, well constructed and the volume and crossover is on the front. My only complaint is I have to keep turning it down for my wife.
