Provided instructions somewhat undersells how tricky installation is
The instructions provided with the product are alright, but very much understate how tricky getting the old glued-in battery out of your iPhone really is. Other reviews have mentioned this, but I'd like to reiterate that taking your phone apart and getting the battery out is a process that requires some experience with electronic equipment repair. For reference, I'm a PC technician by trade and consider myself "intermediate" on the spectrum of experience with DIY electronics repairs. I've taken apart a couple of macbooks and older model iPhones in my time, and let me tell you Apple really really really really does not want you to get inside of their products. The tools included are pretty good except that I managed to snap part of two of the plastic tools. I found that a heavy gauge guitar pick and a small metal flathead screwdriver assisted me with getting the battery out better than the included plastic bits. To be fair, I also expect the tools that included with things like this to be somewhat disposable. Actually, the included metal tweezers are pretty awesome and I'm sure I'm going to get a lot more use out of them around my garage.Outside of the aforementioned guitar pick and small screwdriver, the one required tool for disassembly is a Heat Gun, which I just so happened to purchase for a completely unrelated task a couple of months ago. This was at the suggestion of a youtube video I watched to assist with this project (search JerryRigEverything on youtube) and very carefully heating up the back of the aluminum case to loosen up the original adhesive was pretty much a required step. Especially when considering how volatile these LiON batteries can be when physically damaged. But good news: no five foot flames erupted from the old battery while trying to remove it! This is a better result than some of the other reviews on here.Another note: you're going to want to fully remove and disconnect the front of the phone before you start taking the old battery out. I had to seriously manhandle the phone while removing the old battery, and I suspect I would have permanently damaged the connecting ribbons had I not removed the front completely. But to make a long story longer, I was able to complete the install from beginning to end in about an hour, a process that was accelerated by my wife suddenly announcing that I needed to hurry up because we were expected at her brother's house right around the time I successfully got the old battery fully removed. I can't yet attest to the battery life or longevity as it's only 24 hours old, but it seems to be doing alright. I'll edit this later if I have any problems on that front. But all in all, my installation was a success and everything still appears to work properly! I'd recommend this product to anyone who's technical skill falls between "knows enough to be dangerous" and "hasn't made anything explode in a while".

Complete kit with all the tools you need to do the job right!
I recently acquired a throwaway iphone 6 from my wife and decided to bring it back to life again with this battery kit and a brand new screen. I figured it would be an experiment of sorts to see how easy/difficult taking apart an iphone is and also to see if I am capable of doing it all myself thanks to countless how-to/diy videos and websites all over the interwebs. Suffice to say, it was too easy.I am a gear head and have always loved working on anything with wheels and an engine, so I am comfortable working around electronics and handling tools. For my iphone 6, taking it apart required some finesse and gentle prying, but it was very simple. The vendor provides a great set of instructions in the kit and a link to a video clip showing the procedures. The hardest part was figuring out how to remove the old battery without puncturing it. I was also worried about the battery possibly exploding in front of me if I messed things up. Luckily, nothing bad happened because I took the time to read the directions and watched plenty of videos before proceeding with taking apart the iphone. This kit is 100% complete with everything you need to replace a battery in your iphone. The battery life has been restored to what it was when it was brand new in 2014 and with my usage on it, the my iphone 6 easily lasts an entire day before needing a charge. My daily driver is a Samsung Galaxy S5 (or Note 3 if want to swap) running on custom Android 10, but I am very impressed with Apple making such a phone that is so easy to repair! Apparently, the iphone 12 is not much harder to repair per ifixit. Once my wife wears down her iphone 12, I will find out!**Update 5/27/21**My iPhone 6 started acting glitchy for the past couple weeks. Once the battery was down to around 60%, the phone would randomly reboot itself. The phone would also never reach full charge; the highest charge I saw was 93% and that was with the phone plugged in and untouched for at least 2 hours once it reached that level. I did a full factory reset along with installing the most up to date iOS security patch and the problem never went away. So I contacted the vendor regarding my issues and he/she was more than gracious to help out. The product did not work out for me (only lasted about 5 months), but the customer service and response from this vendor was top notch. I deducted one star from my original review of this product. Great customer service, product not so great.
