Fearless Gardening: Be Bold, Break the Rules, and Grow What You Love

Received this book a few days ago and have already blasted through it- It's a really fun read overall and I found it to be the right amount of educational and inspirational (exactly what I was looking for with a gardening book). The author's gardening philosophy really comes out through the pages, and the selection of photos and plant info is great as well. As a newer Portland gardener I really gravitate towards more exotic plants to our climate, and this book is well aligned with that. I would absolutely recommend! Particularly if you are also entranced by lush, jungle-like gardens.Also, for what it is worth, I happened to find out that the author lives not too far from me. I ended up visiting the garden in person just to see the plantings and got to meet her! She was incredibly kind and gave me a tour. Super glad I bought her book!

I am not much of a book-reader so it takes a bit for me to find a book that I'm able to sit and read. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I am a Zone-denying gardener so naturally when I heard about his book I had to get it! The visuals alone on this book is fantastic! What really caught my attention is how colorful this book is! I'm a child when it comes to pictures and colors 😁. Overall this book is very captivating and a great read, even for those who are not into reading books (like myself).TONS and TONS of inspiring photos!

Love this book! Loree Bohl has created an absolutely captivating gardening book unlike the dozens of others we have purchased over the years--which are fine, but pretty predictable in content. "Fearless Gardening" explores so many different gardens, techniques, plant combos and designs--it is a beautiful representation of gardeners who are stretching the limits of traditional gardening to create something truly new. The tone of voice in the book is accessible and warm--you can almost hear her voice chatting with you one-on-one as you go through the pages. Terrific work! I'm looking forward to her next book.

Loree Bohl has the vision to create what she wants to see every single time she walks out her door. Have her ideas of beauty changed over the years? Yes. Has she been adventurous enough to play and change her gardens within each little nook and cranny? Yes. I have always felt the same way with my gardens, rules are for others, not for me. I wish Amazon allowed questions on books the way they do other items.This book is mostly about desert plants. I really wanted to ask about this before buying it, but there was no way to do it. I wouldn't have bought the book if I had known ahead of time, and I can't return it due to a bedbug problem. 😒 It's a nice book...just not what I expected.
