DanfossCentral Heating Programmer, White, 155 x 90 x 30mm

Our Danfoss FP715SI failed, smae issue most have, screen goes blank. Bought this to replace it. Fitted new backplate, only needed to drill hole for one screw as other was already there from previous. Installed electrical cables myself, just followed the diagram and used the old one as a guide. Worsk flawlessly. Some good videos on YouTube to help set up timers etc. Saves reading the manual! 😂

Do not use a cross-head (even with a torque limiter) for the screw terminals on the backplate. They are flimsy and impossible to find and purchase separately. They are trivial to break and there is no way to get a replacement terminal and/or replacement backplate - you have to buy a whole new unit.Otherwise works as advertised - a simple dumb timer for British Y-plan which is something designed by a lunatic and not used in any other country in the world.

Easy to use good size display screen

Very nice looking programmer. Easy to use, like any other have to cycle through all settings to make changes.1, 2 or 3 periods per day, same every day, 5/2 split or different every day.There is a +1hr button.What I really miss is an "advance" button that my very basic previous one had. This lets you turn on early, but more important turn off early without stopping the schedule. E.g. goto bed early.Previous Danfoss models had this as a "MAN" button - I cannot understand why they would remove this essential functionality.More important I am out of the house a few irregular days a week. I would like to have a 7:00-16:00 period and a 16:00-10:00 period so if I am leaving at 8 could press advance and still have the house warm when I come in at 5. With this model it is not possible, I have to reprogram the whole schedule if I want it to come on at 4, or turn the thermostat down and then come home to a cold house.I think advance button is essential functionality for a programmer so have to score this low unfortunately.Most programmers also allow an easy switch between Auto scheduled program and "all day" which just uses the first/last on/off respectively. This functionality is missing too.It's really just a time switch rather than a heating programmer.The danfoss wireless thermostat (separate product) is great though.

After a power it out old controller didn’t restart whatever we did, we read up and found this to be a suitable replacement, instructions were easy to follow, rewired and installed in less than an hour and worked (and has worked since) perfectly. Would recommend
