This is the tool of choice for lingual-mandibular differentiation and stabilization, and can be oriented as needed for each client. 3WMP are used to stabilize the mandible while training the tongue to make various placements and excursions. They are sturdy, versatile and do not splinter. Small wooden picks can be inserted into the 3WMP’s for therapist or parental control. 3-Way Mouth Props have also demonstrated to be a useful tool to train singers to open their mouths wide during stabilization exercises.

As a dental mouth prop...
We use these in our Dental office as mouth props for ppl with small mouths. Their texture is more comfortable than the usual props, and they can be used in a couple different positions, depending on the patients comfort level and the Dentist's needs. They are made of a compacted styrofoam and hold up well for most ppl. Some patients, because of severe anxiety, may bite down excessively, so they will flatten a little, but that scenario is rare, and in that case, we just use the old fashioned kid size prop. Shipment was speedy. No complaints.

The answer
Have had many many years of dental work thought my 59 yrs. I have a very small mouth, so having work done is very painfully (holding my mouth open). To make it worse, I have TMJ syndrome. Why is it that I could so easily come across this little gadget, buy it so in expensively, yet I couldn't find one dentist to provide me one. Just finished a three stage process of a root canal ang crown. Used this bite block and had no pain in jaw. It was wonderful.

Makes Dental Work Easier
For me the worst part of going to the dentist was holding my mouth open. The props solved that problem. After I got them, the dentist told me that he has them on hand and I only had to ask. I wish I had known that for the past 40 years. Dentists should offer them to all their customers.
