Origami Pop-ups: to Amaze and Amuse Paperback – December 15, 2013

I got this as ann x-mas present for my 9 yr old daughter. She found Jeremy Shafer on youtube and he became her favorite folder and she learned tons of his designs. It was the best present she got for x-mas and she has pawed through that bool so much I'm suprised that the pages haven't fallen out! Very good quality paperback! The designs are easy for her to follow but not so much for me. She has been folding for 2 years now and can fold about 200 things by memory she so the more complicated patterns are easier for her to do! Great origami book top of our list. Filled with great ideas and lots of humor WE LOVE JEREMY he's the best!

Since I teach Pop-ups as part of my Geometry Course, and love origami this book was quite a find! Jeremy Shafer was is usual creative self, with models and humor mixed together. Most models require specialized paper, but that would also be normal for cards anyway. His technique of first teaching the figure that will pop-up and then the card, is really interesting, He has a list of his U-tube tutorials in the back, so I plan to find some fun viewing time in the next few days. Oh, I should note I feel the cards range from low intermediate to complex, but there is also simple models mixed in.

I bought this for my 12 year old son, who is very gifted when it comes to origami. He loves it and has done several of the projects, including the "number" pop-ups for birthdays. He has seen a lot of books on origami and says this one has great instructions and that the author has quite the sense of humour. It is not a beginner's book, for the record. 😊

My 10-year-old son is a talented origami-maker and he really loves the designs in this book. The only thing he says he would change is for the folds to be explained in more detail. And he says it calls for specific origami paper that he wishes had a reference of where to buy it. So this is not for beginners, but an advanced artist will really enjoy it.

I have a house full of birds, flashers and magical up s of every kind. Sometimes I start thinking that I made a mistake in giving this book to my 6 year old. Then I see the hundreds of fun toys he has created. Pure enjoyment.

Jeremy's books are all so entertaining! He has skill and smarts with playful twists. We hope you keep making books and having fun Jeremy. Our 8-year-old loves you and is inspired by you always!

Mr Shafer's origami books always amuse and amaze! The models are a lot of fun to fold and a lot of fun to play with. The diagrams are clear and easy to follow. The book is also fun to just look through and read.

Great projects for all levels

My 9 year old son is obsessed with Jeremy Shafer origami. He has done hundreds of his designs online and he asked me to buy this book for him.It is amazing! The designs are fun and unique and most of them are new to him. The instructions are clear and he has not struggled with any of them. We will definitely buy more of his books as it gets him off the screen.

Genau dieses Buch hatte sich mein Patenkind gewünscht - und also auch bekommen. Ich bin erstaunt, was er daraus alles hat basten (falten) können. Hieraus und von der Web-Seite des Autors hat er "zig" von Tieren und anderen interessanten Dingen gefaltet.

There is a "scribd" website who gives a free download pdf of origami oh la la work on it i have not bought this book and do not buy this book because it is not at all good models expected 4 or 5

J'ai plié presque tous les modèles. Certains sont pour débutants, d'autres sont vraiment pour plieurs confirmés. Je suis particulièrement fan de la chauve-souris.
