Don't let the price fool you.
Searched far and wide for a solid rack that would securely hold my 5-100lb dumbbell set and found many others that were MORE expensive than this one had subpar reviews--sagging under heavy weight, not true to size, won't fit an even number of pairs, you name it. But I came across the XMark brand and took a chance despite very few (albeit positive) reviews and ordered 2 of them in order to hold my entire set, and I am beyond satisfied! For the cost, you can't beat the quality of the build. The racks did require some assembly which I was able to do myself in about 20 minutes each. And well worth the labor--these not only hold every pair, but also don't indicate any sort of stress under the weights. They look great too!

Very nice dumbell and rack set... strongly recommend
I purchased this item about a week ago. Just like other reviewers stated, the process was smooth getting the weights and rack from La to my garage. I even called Xmark and the guy was helpful. The rack is of heavy duty quality. The dumbells are also very nice. Just like other people have stated, they do smell. I cleaned each one with Clorox wipes and it doesn't seem to have helped much. But it is not unbearable. Over-all the purchase, delivery, assembly and quality of this product is great. Here are a couple issues: the rack seems too big for this weight set. There is a lot of "empty room" when all the dumbells are racked. Almost seems like they could have put all the weights on a two tier rack if made a bit wider. No big deal. Secondly and more importantly, the rack consists of two towers (right and left) and 6 "L" channels that run between the towers. The rear "L" channel is positioned such that one of the "legs" is standing upwards. This is done so the weight, when racked, does not slide off. The problem is, the legs on the "L" channel are about 1"X1" or maybe 1.5" x 1.5" long so when you rack the smaller weights (5lb to 20lb), they actually rest on the dumbell handles rather than the rubber ends resting on the rack. Stated another way, the smaller dumbells don't stand high enough to properly fit in the rack. It seems like one of the six channels should have had a shorter leg to be used for the top tier of the rack to accommodate the smaller weights. If anyone has a suggestion or perhaps I'm assembling it wrong... I'd like to know. I'm considering changing the top row and having the front channel stick up and the back one flat.... that may do the trick. But it isn't pictured or instructed to be made that way. But should work.

Good weights and a great price
After looking at several different weight sets I decided to give XMark a shot. I'll tell you I don't regret my decision either. The shipment seemed longer than most Amazon orders but this was several hundred pounds of weight being shipped (for free) from Shreveport Louisiana to Illinois. I had to set up a delivery date with the shipping company (Estes). The weights and rack were delivered to my house via a semi truck with a lift gate. The driver even helped me get the freight from the road to my garage using his pallet jack. The rack was in a carboard box and the dumbbells were individually wrapped and in individual cardboard boxes shipped inside a wooden crate. Indexing the weights I noticed they had a light later of an oily substance on them that cleaned right off. The weights seemed well made and have a nice feel in your hand. The rack was easy to assemble using a wrench and socket (think it was an 11/16). From start to finish took me 1.5 hours unboxing everything, assembling the rack, and moving everything into the basement gym. When I am ready for the 55 and up set I will look for XMark.

Best Value For Your Money
This is an excellent set of dumbbells. It comes with a very sturdy rack that you need to put together yourself. Only complaint I have (and which is why Im not giving this 5 stars) is it doesn't come with tools to tighten bolts and nuts. I had to buy my own tools just for this assembly. The rubber on the dumbbells does leave black marks on carpets. The room will have a very strong rubber smell for about a week. I just sprayed air freshener on each of them and this seems to help alleviate the strong odor. All in all, I'm very happy with this purchase. Was contemplating between this set and the similar set from Body Solid, but the lower price on the XMark unit had me sold. Also, XMark doesnt brand their name on the dumbbell like Body Solid did with theirs which is another big bonus!

High quality dumbell rack.
This rack is made of heavy gauge steel and the hardware-bolts, nuts, washers-are also solid. I was able to torque on them with a large ratchet with no problem. Heads did not chew up and shafts did not break.Another plus is that each successively lower rack sits out from the one above so as you you reach for lower racks, you don't bump your head on the higher ones. The directions are clear and the illustrations are easy to see unlike some products were it's all a blur.I assembled myself (about 1.5 hours). I consider myself a little above average as far as using hand tools. A novice would probably do well to have a helper to hold up the cross bars while you tighten the bolts. You will need two wrenches or ratchets with an 11/16 inch socket or head. It would not be a bad idea to tell you in the instructions what sized tools you would need. Some people complained that the bolt hole did not line up. If you had that problem you were not doing it correctly. The company added a flyer with an number to call for technical help.I have nothing negative to say about this rack.
