Bought this to act as a secure cover for a wound dressing on horse's chest. Stretchy, breathable, keeps flies off, and works really well. Wound is healing WAy faster now that this keeps the dressing on, clean, and dry. But whether for this, or for it's original purpose (blanket shoulder protector), it needs (1) a strap to connect the bottom to the undergirth. Otherwise, the bottom rides up onto the chest. To deal with this, I used some elasticon bandage to make a stretchy connector to the girth. (2), Better placement of the girth velcro. it fits everywhere else - but the velcro starts way too low. It needs to be placed further up the sides to make a snug fit and avoid dangling ends. (Put onto a 1200 lb, 17.2 hh TB. Fits everywhere else, but the girth is just too long/improperly placed for a snug fit.) Easy enuf fix with a bit of duct tape to secure the ends.

Bought this for my old horse who had a sore on his whither from a seam on his blanket. I was hoping this would protect that area but the shoulder guard has a seam in the same spot. Returned the item and tossed that blanket. Now using a blanket without a seam. Would be perfect for shoulder rub from a blanket.

I liked that it holds bandage gauze pretty much in place. It is also easy to wash. I got 3 so I could switch them out for washing. Excellent product!

The fit is good and is working for why I purchased…protect my horse from sunburn shoulders. However, it only took two days for him to rip a large hole in the side. Still using as it’s still better than sunburn shoulders.

I haven't used this protector yet. I bought it to prevent blanket rubbing on my horse's chest. I'm sure it will help when he wears his blanket again.

Very easy to put on and keeps the shoulders from getting rub marks from blankets. I used it all winter long and it is still in perfect shape.
