Akebono ACT1164 Proact Ultra Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad kit, GREY

They fit well, work consistent and easy to install

I bought these as a recommendation from some people I trust. Around 80,000 miles I replaced all the pads on my Mazda 6. Comes with stainless steel hardware and the workmanship is fantastic. I have now put 20 or 30,000 miles on them and they have not missed a beat. They also produce less brake dust and zero squealing. I bought some additional lubricant as the pack they supply is pretty minimal.

This Akebono ACT1164 Proact Ultra Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad Kit is simply fantastic! Ten months ago (October 2019), I replaced all of the original factory-installed brake pads and rotors (front and rear) on my sedan. The original Ford factory-installed brake pads were ‘semi-metallic’ ones but replacement OEM Motorcraft ones were ‘organic’ and neither I nor the parts department counter personnel at two local Ford dealerships could figure out why there was a difference between the two. Ultimately, I chose to upgrade to these Akebono ‘ceramic’ pads so that they would be quieter and have the added benefit of eliminating brake dust. I also opted to pair the ACT1164’s with NAPA Brakes Ultra Premium™ Polymer Coated Rotors, after reading some favorable online reviews about that particular combination. Boy, am I ever glad I made that choice! Ever since the time of replacement, my brakes have been simply awesome. They’re noticeably quieter, smoother, and “grabbier” than the original semi-metallic ones. It’s hard to get excited over something as mundane as car brakes… but I seriously can’t say enough good things about these ACT1164’s. I will DEFINITELY consider purchasing brake pads from Akebono again in the future for my other vehicles.

Didn't work on my Mazda 6, apparently this is just for USA Mazda 6, and mine is the European version.Bummer

The big reasons to use ceramic disc pads are:- generate good heat for superior braking- dust that comes off is almost invisible, not black, so wheels look good- dust is also less harmful to people- hold up well- cause less wear on brake rotorsI've had good luck with Akebono pads.

Made in USA. Quality fit and finish. Everything matched OE fitment. These pads are an upgrade from original equipment in quality of construction and pad material. These are now the only pads I will buy, they will spoil you for all others.

Came with excellent pads full hardware

Haven't used them all that much yet, but first impressions are very positive. Very solid, confident stopping, and at first I almost braked too hard initially as they really work well. Just had to learn to feather the brakes more, and stopping power with the new Raybestos AT rotors is substantially better than the OEM rotors and pads.
