Cost? You get what you pay for, these aren’t the cheapest but wow do they perform. Have 2 of these in a standard can pickup. Great punch and extension, amazing clean sound. I did remove the sub and add 3/4lb of poly fill to each enclosure. Just a personal preference to the sound. All in all great purchase.

Please be aware of what you buy something look new but could be damage I had order this subwoofer I was excited to install it with new amplifier from alpine head unit alpine everything was good got my stereo installed professional everything got plugged in and power up I was excited to hear this subwoofer bump but nothing no bass so we check everything was good but no bass still so good thing I had another speaker box I plugged that up guess what I got bass after checking the speaker notice that the speaker was completely popping to much out then other ones just like the one I had order also it was really stiff so I did my research took some pictures before I even install it if you pay close attention you could tell from the pictures that this speaker was send to me damaged how can you send this to some one

This sub is very low profile. It fits perfectly in a regular cab truck behind the seat. The only issue I had was with the rubber seal that comes with the sub kept falling off if the bass was too high and it made a knocking noise without it. I used Loctite super glue and glued it along the edge now I have no issue with it and it sounds great I’d also recommend stuffing with some polyfil before you glue it down. Took off a star due to the plastic piece that fell off. It was fairly easy to install as long as you have a little bit of stereo knowledge. Great sub overall tho. Highly recommend

Revised to 3 stars: Box is too small for this sub. It's ok for low wattage and lower volume but if want it to hit hard as a Type S can hit you will need a box with larger air space Or a ported box. Shipping came a day early. I would love to give it 5 stars based on performance. Awesome newer Alpine design allows for a very shallow mount. My problem are is the subwoofer was pre-installed into the box. The sub was definitely new and I understand for shipping reasons why it is packaged like this however that means you won't get any of the paperwork that would have come in the box including warranty info. The subwoofer did have the jumper cables that would have been included and in fact came already wired down to 2 ohm. The next knock is that the sub wasn't sealed properly because when it was installed into the box it wasnt properly lined up leaving a very small gap a the bottom scream ( assuming when the guy or gal drilling the screws in sits it so the sub is angled toward them and gravity allows a slight gap if not aligned before screws going in) I remedied the air gap with a silicone seal but c'mon man... All of this being said I will probably purchase a second since my amp is just way too much for this Alpine TypeS and run it to 2.

The box is well made an speaker works great but the packaging could of been better, It came double boxed but no foam or anything else. The speaker came mounted upside down but thats only cosmetic an gave me a reason to remove it an inspect the construction.
