News flash-there isn't much gold on the Olympic Peninsula
An interesting historical perspective on gold in the OP, but really, the geology is not great for gold and what little that was there was scooped up long ago. If you are going to bother looking for gold, go to places where the geology favors gold formation (e.g. find granite) and you will be a lot happier. Besides, the OP is dense with vegetation, so there aren't a lot of outcrops to guide your search. There is some beach gold, but unless you can get a permit for commercial extraction, its not really worth it. If you want to go that route, go to Nome Alaska, where apparently, global warming is making beach mining profitable and the gold rush is on.

Very old data
Lots of old historical notes, nothing current to today's placer or lode mining . Very disappointing. Very little value for this info.

My Gold review
Some good information. Book is small with basic information. I wish it had more information. More pictures and maps would improve this book.
