Danby Silhouette 36" Stainless Steel Under-Cabinet Range Hood

I purchased this article, frankly because it had such a huge discount in price. The article came very quickly. This range hood was extremely difficult to install. I hired a service man to install it and he really scoured the directions but he was at last successful. Now that's it up I can say that it has real pluses and minuses. On the plus side it really looks high end, the fan has 3 speeds and is quiet, it came equipped with the bulbs and the price was good. I think the low price is because of the difficulty in installation. There are many negatives. The difficulty of installation, the necessity of maintenance or the unit will stop working if the filters aren't cleaned every 100 hours. The product arrived with a damaged screen but since it isn't visible I decided not to bother with trying to figure out how to return it. If I know then what I know now, I don't know if I would purchase it again. I gave it three stars because of the quiet fan and attractive appearance.

This hood wasn't too bad to install and looks great- however, within 6 mos, the LED buttons stopped being pressable (they would get stuck and become permanently pressed in). We would have to remove the exhaust screens, stick an arm up inside the unit, and push the controls back out to unstick the buttons. At first, this happened infrequently, but has since become not only a daily nuisance, but any button any time! Then, this weekend, even unsticking the buttons results in nothing happening. No lights at all. I can occasionally get the fan to come on but only by trying to force the controls. Ridiculous. So disappointed.

installed well. looks fantastic, and quite impressed w the strength of the fan. we mounted it higher than our old fan, but the greater height will be no problem at all!!!

Awesome exhaust fan, don't need to be a contractor to install just some basic know how.

So far very good although the filters are iffi can i buy more filters let me know
