Very cool/fun, but do your due diligence regarding the size.
Bought these from Rock Ridge Sales, Inc as a gift for a 12 year old, and he seemed very happy with them.Within minutes he was "passing" the light from one thumb to the other and then passing it across the room with a buddy.Even knowing exactly what was going on, the effect looked really cool in my opinion. The light was bright and really drew my attention, and by all accounts it was very easy/reliable to use.The 2 possible concerns I had prior to buying were a) how well would these things actually work, and b) how well would they fit?I've already addressed the first question above. The ones I got worked really well.As for the size, obviously since these slide on over one's thumbs, one size does not fit all:I can tell you that I am an adult male with above-average thumb-size (something I've learned over many years of bowling with different groups of people), and these did NOT fit on my thumbs. Not sure how they would fit on an average adult male thumb, but if I had to guess, I'd GUESS they'd probably be serviceable but still a bit smaller than ideal. For reference, my thumb is about 2.5 inches around (i.e. circumference) just above my mid-thumb knuckle.Meanwhile, the thumb tips were just a tad bit large on the short-for-his-age 12 year old that I gave them to (which is perfectly fine because the effect still looked great unless you were rather close-up, and this way he can probably still bust them out several years from now if he wants without having to worry about having outgrown them). All and all, I would advise anyone considering these to be a bit wary of possible fit concerns. These would definitely be too large for a young child (although reading the Q&A, it sounds like you can also request a jr. size, which would presumably fit well on certain younger thumbs). And again, these will definitely be too small for at least some adults. That said, assuming they are being bought for the right-sized thumb, these things are pretty cool and a lot of inexpensive fun... I can't imagine anyone using this for a high-end magic trick that would fool a smart, attentive, adult audience, but the effect certainly seems to work well enough to be used for certain situational magic performances, and again, it is just lots of fun to play around with in general.

Good quality gimmicks for a classic magic trick.
This gimmick comes in two pieces, the thumb tip, and the lighting mechanism. You get two of each, and some glue dots to affix the lightign mechanism inside the thumbtip. The thumbtips I received are large. I have big hands, and thick fingers and thumbs. I anticipated having to put the lighting part inside one of my other thumbtips but it wasn't necessary. I was fortunate, the thumbtips fit me perfectly. Thumbtips are not a one-size-fits-all device. You'll need to find what works best for you. The thumbtips I received are the softer rubber type, not plastic, and very thin, allowing a lot of light to shine through. In general, thumptips mostly tend to be pale in color. With proper use, the audience doesn't notice the color, the thumbtip is best kept hidden at most times, behind other fingers, or pointed directly at the audience to hide their presence. For my purposes, these thumbtips get five stars. I've spent more on inferior ones, without the lighting component. The lighting device is simple and effective. The LED should last for years, and the battery is easily replaceable. The electronics consist of one wire above and another below the battery, and pressing on the top of the plastic lights up the LED. Care should be taken not to bend the wires when replacing the battery, but it is easy to bend them back in place. Again, 5 stars for the plastic, pressure sensitive LED lights. One piece of blue tack, or a glue dot will anchor the plastic lighting into the end of your thumbtip. It holds well.I have had several of these over the years, including the originals. These are not the same quality as the D'Lites, but they work surprisingly well, and at this cost I can afford to buy several, making sure I have them available whenever I need them.I wasn't sure what to expect at such a low price point, but I am extremely pleased with what I received. They immediately got some use.

Better then expected (at this price)
Come on you can't beat the price!!! It did take a long time to get here (I'm a spoiled Amazon Prime member). Expect it to take a few weeks to arrive. If you are creative you will have fun with these. There's nothing you can buy for $2.00 that will give you this much lasting fun... Practice some moves and have fun!

So fun. On the smaller side. Which makes it perfect for my 6 year olds fingers. Keeps him entertained for a long time. Which is great for this mama. :)

Very large and dark colour tone. Didn’t fit and very obviously a “fake thumb”.
