In recent months I have noticed decreasing returns in my full charge battery capacity. It seemed like it was time to replace and I have very little to complain about a battery performing as admirably as it did. Anyhow, I decided to pick this one up based on positive reviews of the battery itself. An extra set of tools is always good to have as well (Couldn't find my pentalope).As others have mentioned, installation is pretty easy. I had already done a screen replacement on a friend's unit so I was familiar with the process. One thing that doesn't seem to be mentioned very often is when lifting the screen be sure to get under the frame instead of peeling up the glass. They can separate at this point. It seems this is especially true on older devices (mine included). Do yourself a favor and look up a video tutorial or one of the countless repair site guides. The one included isn't super thorough but there are so many other resources out there I can't fault them for keeping it simple.The tools are fine but don't expect the plastic wedge/spudger to hold up very long. They are soft and easily warped or broken. Thats okay though you came here for the battery and it is a quality part. After installation my battery had about a 20% charge. Enough to turn on and verify I didn't break or disconnect anything internally. Using coconut battery I saw a charge cycle count of 1 and topping it off got me to around 1400mah. I have been using this battery for 5 days now and after putting it through its initial paces it looks to be just as capable as the original. I will continue to check in on it to see how it holds up. So far I am happy with my purchase and pleased to recommend this to anyone looking to keep an iPhone 5 around a couple years more.

Works perfect! We replaced my husband Iphone battery, the old one was expanding and lifting the glass on the phone. We had nothing to loose so what the heck we said if we mess it up and have to buy a new phone whatever or if this works it just saved us $300. Well it just saved us $300. We took our time and with youtube we replaced the battery ourselves. Now I will disclose my husband works in IT and is a HAM radio guy and working on electronics is nothing new, however, we have never worked on phones. Now when mine goes or my son's we are ready to do it again. Takes a little skill and some time, but if you can follow directions you can do it no problem. It has been a month since we installed the battery and it is still working perfect. We are so happy we did this ourselves and since then we have repaired several other electronic items which has saved us well over $1,500. I will also say we purchased other small tool set to also help us get into phones and laptops and after having to fix my laptop and having it all torn apart and it is working like a champ for a $8 part we will from now on just fix it ourselves or junk it. Like all things, if you can fix it yourself awesome, but we will never work on a car engine although!

I'm a pretty hand DIY guy-always fixing things. This battery was a perfect replacement and the accompanying tool kit was outstanding. I've seen delicate surgical instruments not as carefully packaged. Good instructions but there was no warning about being VERY, VERY careful when trying to connect the battery leads to the phone terminal. It does not snap into place easily and holding the other half of the phone with one hand (no more than 90 degrees per instructions) and trying to connect the battery terminal with the other hand is difficult. After finally getting it connected, there was no response from the phone. Letting it charge for 15 minutes, again per instructions, found the phone extremely hot and still a dark screen. A local repair shop diagnosed the problem as dislodged capacitors which sit right under the battery terminals. Pushing too hard when trying to connect the battery will break the capacitor's micro solder joints from the motherboard. The damaged capacitors ultimately ruins the phone as a motherboard replacement is so costly its cheaper to buy a new one. So beware and careful attempting this for the first time.

My mom's been complaining for a year now about how her phone has been losing it's charge. She couldn't got out for an hour walk without it dying and would always have to carry a backup battery. I ended up getting this for her and doing the work myself rather than paying for someone else to do the job for 2-3x the price. Again you should definitely be comfortable with this kind of thing before going out and buying the product, but isn't difficult. Pleas make sure you watch the YouTube videos out there on how to properly replace your battery.• Ended up taking my mom's battery from something like an hour of regular use to a whole days worth of use.Cons:• Might not be for everyone to do it themselves, be willing to take it to a professional or a friend who's more comfortable.• It's a generic battery if that matters to you. I don't have a problem with it, but some may want an official OEM from Apple. I prefer this as it's just as good and much better pricing.

The kit is really well packaged.The pentalobe screwdriver is poor quality although the rest of the tools are OK. Unfortunately the pentalobe screwdriver is the first tool I needed to use. The head is slightly too big for the screws, meaning the screws were impossible to loosen. I ended up having to use the Philips screwdriver for the pentalobe screws.I could see under 20x magnification that the pentalobe screwdriver isn’t just slightly too large for the screw. With a lot of pressure it works but slips as soon as the screw starts to get tight.I contacted Scanditech who replied within hours and have offered to replace the pentalobe screwdriver. I think this is outstanding customer service.Update: received the replacement pentalobe screwdriver which fits correctly.Completed the battery replacement, the guides on Scanditech’s website are very good, now to see about longevity. Will update review in a few months.

It's been almost 2 month since I installed the battery. And it's working great. It doesn't feel like I'm using replacement battery. I hope performance remains same for long time. Only negative point is that it's expensive, reason could be that it is imported product.
