Worth it
I purchased this in 2011 to use for making jewelry. Its light weight, easy to use has a hard plastic end and rubber end on the opposite side. The hard plastic actually cracked inside but hasn't not effected the product. I gave this a 5 because there is alot more better options if you want to spend the money.

mine was made OK but it is very lightweight and I don't find it the easiest to use
I bought this for working with wire. I am new at wire working (so please take this review from a beginner's perspective). I also bought a much heavier metal hammer and I like the metal one a lot more. This one is OK for some things, though. It will get used occasionally.Mine was in fine shape. The head was on evenly, the handle looked nice and wasn't loose, and I did not damage this taking it out of the packaging. So mine was not particularly fragile (since I wasn't super careful about handling it). And it was decently made. Though do beware, because there seem to be some quality control issues here based on what else I have read. Plus, I wouldn't say the materials from which it was constructed were the highest quality (but they were serviceable). I guess I was just lucky that the one I received was OK.This does not damage the surface of the metal, which is nice. (I'm pretty much limiting myself to color-coated copper like Artistic Wire and plain -- dead soft -- copper wire.) This hammer doesn't flatten the wire like the metal hammer does, but it also seems to take much longer to get results (in terms of work hardening). It is possible that there is something lacking in my technique (I am new at this, like I said above, and am teaching myself from books) but I will say that this is pretty lightweight and that also might have something to do with it (I don't have this issue with my metal hammer, but of course that also flattens the wire, which is not always something you want.). For what it's worth, this really doesn't damage the metal, and that is nice.Unlike a metal hammer, this is not noisy to use. I don't think this would be suitable for metal stamping, though. You just don't get enough force out of it to make an impression because it is so lightweight.

Good Cheap Jeweler's Hammer
This is a good quality cheap jeweler's hammer that has the plastic and rubber ends you would expect, to not leave a mark on your ring or jewelry. I bought this to reshape my wedding band that keeps getting bent with daily use and it does a terrific job getting it back in the round with my mandrel. Saves me from going to the jeweler and I can have it back in the round anytime I want.

Low cost but nicely performing non-marring hammer
If you have need to use either a plastic or rubber light-weight hammer, this very low cost hammer is working well for me. I needed to round out a ring and used the sizing stick I also bought at Amazon as a form and it worked great! This is a very light weight hammer and certainly has limited use for forming lightweight jewelry, wire or sheet-metal, but for those purposes it does work well.4 stars, mine is holding up reasonably well, you can tell the goal here was to be low cost and not highly refined as the fit and finish is mid-range, but hey for a couple bucks, what can you really expect!

Nice head...little loose on handle but worth the $ & cheap priced
It was already wobbly on the handle when it areibed but hey...foe the price u can glue it. The head is amazing & perfect for jewelry. It is loose but hasn't broken or fallen off & i have used it for a couple days now. I recommend just b/c for the price u could literally work with it. Even if u need to repair it...it wouldn't b hard.

This also is a must have if you want to ...
This also is a must have if you want to do a lot of metal work. There is one hard plastic side and one rubber side. I was afraid that the plastic would not be hard enough to effect the metal but it is tough enough for the 20 to 26 gauge copper I use for my jewelry. I use this too keep my metal from getting marred where I hammer the folds when I fold form metal. I want the piece to look weathered but this lets me control exactly where the marks are formed.

Ready to work on jewellery making
Everything about this little hammer looks good with the exception that I thought it might be a little bit larger. However I haven’t put it to work yet and suspect it Will work very well
