Perfect gift for autistic son❤️
The media could not be loaded. I bought this glockenspiel as a longshot present for our autistic 16-year-old son. He’s not the easiest to buy for even when he’s found the words or imagery to communicate his desires. For instance, he spent months showing us videos and pictures of giant trampolines until we eventually set one up. After a short time he lost interest, and it just sat there killing an 8’ x 14’ rectangle of grass. Same thing with the custom built swing set and the fort/zip line. We, as a family, are all pretty familiar with his famous rejection phrase, “put away“ and its unquestionable finality.Still, we all find great joy in delighting him and are always on the lookout for what will entertain him. He’s pretty successful at curating toys that help him read, speak, or laugh, so we are accustomed to following his lead. When he started spending 30 minutes at a time exploring our piano, softly playing notes and concentrating on the sounds, we all started looking for ways to promote his interest in music. We tried different toys, most of them electronic, but he had no interest. When Christmas time rolled around we started looking at inexpensive musical instruments to add to his Christmas loot. He showed an interest in his sister’s ukulele, but that wouldn’t work- It would never survive his natural curiosity or one of his frequent meltdowns. Enter this 20 note chromatic glockenspiel (I’ve included a video for your listening pleasure). In the video he just unwrapped it, but the next day he already figured out how to play it. My teen daughter came running into the kitchen to let me know. As we tiptoed up the hallway to his room we could clearly make out “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” He found the cards included with the glockenspiel and figured out how to read them! It’s his favorite Christmas toy. Naturally, we are overjoyed. Five stars for this great product❤️

Fun!
I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter. We played with it together for a long time. And I ended playing it myself for over an hour. I then carefully packed it up to keep it safe. I wonder how long the wooden mallets will survive the 4 year old and her 7 year old brother.

Good for it’s purpose
This is a toy and it’s bright and find looking - just what my 3 year old wanted. But it also is in tune across the board and the players are sturdy. So she can get some musical experience as she plays with this. Very happy with this purchase.
