Works with aircrack, Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit with packet injection, Version 4.1
Tried this out with Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit and aircrack-ng. The one I received is version 4.1 and has the Atheros AR9485 chipset according to airmon-ng. Tried out monitor mode. Works great. Tried out airodump-ng. Works great. Tried out packet injection with aireplay-ng --test. Works great. Haven't tried any real penetration testing but, at first glance, it seems to work for what I need and I'm able to do packet captures on 2.4GHz traffic on linksys wifi routers.

I like it, the second one I bought.
The TP-Link was easy to install, just plug it into a USB port. I am on the second floor the router is on ground level have at least 3 walls of lath and plaster between the router and the computer but the signal is 3 bars and the connection is fine.

Work perfectly!
Just download its driver to the Hard drive and plug it to the USB port, then it works great. It can get an excellent signal from the wireless router at a distance of about 50ft with several walls obstruction if the device is extended to the high of about 5ft with a 5ft long of USB wire.

Decent Reception
This thing gets decent, but not great reception. I have three of the older TP-LINK b/g adapters and they have always worked great. Maybe its just me, but for me they get better reception.

can't say...
I bought this to replace an existing unit that would drop the internet (and lately not come back). This item does the same thing. So, I'm thinking i can't totally blame the product. though, i have to admit, the setup was really easy and luckily intuitive since the instructions weren't that great. So far, its been a couple of weeks, it works most of the time.

It works and was very easy to install
This works just fine. The only issue I had was that Zonealarm block the initial install. I had to unistall ZA then install the TP-Link drivers. After that I could reinstall ZA and I found no issues.
