Powerfun EDF 50mm 11 Blades Ducted Fan Without Motor for EDF 3S 4S RC Jet Airplane

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Every year, we have a “No Rules” Pinewood Derby at church. Being the competitive family that we are, second place just wasn’t going to cut it. We bought this fan and placed it in our car and WOOPED the competition. Check out our video for proof!

This is NOT being used in an RC airplane but automotive application.The EDF weighs in at 80g and delivers 1000g of thrust. It was installed in a 2" PVC pipe and still produced 900g of thrust with a 12VDC battery. Blows me away... pun intended.

Holy crap this thing has a lot of power. I'm planning on using it to build an rc Orlyonok ekranoplan with this jet in the nose, and it should me so much more than enough. I used a no name brushless ESC and an 11.2v lipo and the thing wanted to lift off on its own. Going to have to build a test rig to figure out the thrust off of it, but it's a lot.

So far I have only had one full day of testing with this edf. So far so good. No fan explosions, fan is well balanced, I didn't have to solder any bullet connectors. I don't have a reliable mean to measure thrust but I suspect that 950 grams of thrust is a bit optimistic. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and blame any lack in performance on my crappy thrust tubes. The only real warning I would say is that you should be sure that your 40 amp esc is rated for 4s batteries and not just 3s. Mine burnt out and I think that was a 40 amp esc rated for 3s batteries. I like this motor and I will continue to use it. However, I would say that for your first adf you go with a 70mm instead.

I am an older fella without all the fancy test equipment to check actual thrust. I am pleased with the fact that the component showed up very well packaged and worked for the application in which this EDF was purchased. I installed it in an airboat and it ticks along very well. No speed runs or video to share. It will serve its purpose and then I will get a bigger one, design and build a bigger faster boat and pictures will be shared

will hold up to 4s no problem in flight id say i used one of these as a mini leaf blower run in continually on 4s lipo for days. and it rips, can air blast a clean path or jet dry your windows on you car befor they spot,nice turbine sound

Shipping was extremely slow. Took almost 2 months for arrival.After waiting 2 months, the fan stopped working the second time I tried to use it.

I bought the 3 and 4s version so not sure the one I’m responding to. Only tried the 4s on three cell, as suggested, great match. Love it.
