not really sure how accurate this is
Yes it's cheap, and there's a lot of "decoration" but can't be sure of its accuracy. First off, unless it's TOTALLY flat the readings are all over the place. How often is a compass sitting perfectly flat? Not going to bother to return it but wouldn't have gotten it in retrospect.

Don't work.
Looks nice. Some instructions would be nice. To open you need to turn the ring counterclockwise. Then you can find out that it doesn't work and discover it not returnable.

The best pocket-watch style compass
I've always wanted a pocket-watch style compass. It's very hard to tell the quality from photographs, so I ordered several different kinds. This was by far the best. Opens and closes smoothly, and generally very satisfying to use. I'm not saying it is an heirloom, but compared with the other compasses in the same price range, this one was the best.

Unfortunately they are both inaccurate but at least I just got them as a more of an aesthetic gift.

Complete Junk
A compass that doesn't work has no value, and should be listed with a price of $0.00. Also, the pictures make this item look far more attractive (shiny, polished) than it is in person.

These are miniature in size very small
Very very very small. Seller should put the dimensions in the listing. I can’t give these as gifts to my adult sons. They are miniature and should be labeled miniature.
