Orbit WaterMaster Automatic Reinforced Valve with Flow Control, 1-1/2-Inch

About these to upgrade my parents irrigation system. Prior to purchasing and installing these everything was manually done to switch zones in their yard. No doubt that this was a major improvement. The valves work very well with an automatic timer I also purchased by Orbit. These are extremely well built and I would think they would continue for many years to be maintenance-free.

Orbit use to be a good product when they first came into the market against Rain Bird products, but lately Orbit are being made with cheaper material means cheaper products. When I went it on manually the plastic solenoid valve housing broke into 4 pieces,I went back to Rain Bird products.

Well constructed product made in Italy. One major problem however for those of us who don't regularly install such devices......no instructions of any kind were in the box with the valve!! Perhaps the Orbit Underground/Sunmate folks forgot to include them and I have not yet contacted them. I did go to the Orbit Web page to download it's manual but they didn't have one.......very frustrating indeed.Since I have a Master's degree in chemistry with a minor in physics, I will be able to "figure it out". Others, however, with little technical background or natural mechanical/electrical abilities could have a lot of trouble.

I have used these same valves for 15 years now. I have a 12 zone system and I just now had to replace a few. They use to have them at Lowes but not anymore. I will continue to use these as long as I can buy them!

Works great for my irrigation system. Save our pastures while we were away on medical issues. Worked fine all summer with out a problem.

Came quickly and installed into my two 1 1/2 lines. Now control two major lines. Way cheaper than orbitz or rainbird.
