DynatekIgnition System DSK6-1

I’ve used the Dynatek on two Sportsters, a 1973 and a 1974, both XLCH’s.In both cases the bikes ran significantly better.Installation took me, a slightly better than average shade tree mechanic, about an hour.It would have taken less than 15 minutes if one issue was changed.The heat resistant cable sheathing is wider than I believe it should be, and is very flexible, very much like the Chinese handcuffs we played with as children.During both installations I found it fairly difficult to route the cable through the hole in the ignition cone.Not a huge deal, but it added to installation time.Regardless of the sheathing the Dynatek ignition has been a big improvement on both bikes.Easier starting, better carb response, and smother idle.Plugs looked perfect after installation.Also the static timing was pretty easy and right on.I statically timed the bike as instructed and double checked with a timing light.Timing mark was dead center.I highly recommend the Dynatek.Dynatek, if you read this how about looking at the cable sheathing.This change change could make a good thing better.

The media could not be loaded.  I had to completely rewire a '79 Shovelhead for a customer and this was one of the items needed. I installed it and she fired right up. Not a single issue at all. The previous kit was a Dynatek one also but it was really old, probably 1990's but lasted until now when the customer hooked his battery up backwards and fried the homemade harness someone hacked into this thing. She has a Dyna wire harness as well as Dynatek ignition!

Works great on my 98 Softail Custom.Very easy to install; took about 10 minutes with basic hand tools and that was it. Bike runs like new again.

Worked as expected on my 06 sporty. After a cam/cam cover swap
