SUPERB SELLER! Will buy from MyScanner Guy again in the future
This is a great scanner. I re-purchased the same model that we bought back in 2014, it's scanned over 6 million pages before starting to present some issues. Definitely a work horse of a machine, so we bought the same one again!Dealing with the seller was an outstanding customer service experience. They provided much needed guidance before making the purchase.

A workhorse with a grave problem Canon won't address
This is a five-star scanner as long as it works, but when it fails Canon does nothing to resolve the problem, at which time it becomes a one-star scanner.I bought my first DR-G1100 in January of 2014, and it was a lemon. Canon's authorized service rep couldn't fix it, and so I returned it and bought a second unit. After that, I had a five-star experience for months, until one day the included software (Capture Perfect 3.1) announced that there was an out-of-memory problem. The scanner would work fine with a different computer, and the computer would work fine with a different Canon scanner running the same software (I have three high-speed Canon sheet-fed scanners). Reinstalling the driver and software didn't help. Calls to Canon's support line yielded no answers, and no real hope there would be an answer, so I resolved the problem by using a new computer with the scanner.A few months later, the scanner stopped working with the new computer. Same symptoms as before: Out-of-memory error. I checked the memory, of course. The scanner would work with a different (third) computer, and my other Canon scanners would work with any of the computers. This time I uninstalled the scanning application and the drivers, upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, reinstalled the driver and software, but the problem wasn't solved. I speculated with two different Canon support representatives that perhaps something in the registry was corrupted. The reps took detailed notes, promised they would get back to me, but neither of them ever did.So I continue to use the scanner, now with a third computer. Buying a new computer every few months in order to use this scanner is a practice that would be unacceptable to me if I had any alternative. Canon doesn't seem to care.

Awesome results
Awesome product. The software was very intuitive and we were off and running quickly. We scan documents everyday with this unit and is far better than our ricoh copier.

I was on leave and from my colleagues who had received the scanner. The scanner was in a cardboard torn and he had no protection inside for transport. I just come back to work and I wanted to install the scanner that is where i seen it all. look at the pictures. You will see that before this is broken and the scanner displays an error message indicating that the cover is opened.

We have 6 DR-G1100s, and they struggle with Red
We've noticed a grave flaw in the G1100 and Canon has failed to correct it in the last few years. The new series (2100) is better and the older series (9050s) are also better. The 1100s was Canon's way of cutting corners and giving the worse of everything to it.Red Enhance is a neccessity if anyone writes with red ink. If you don't have red enhance on, the red ink will disappear! But, to make it enhance, blue content comes out extremely dark. All red page? Out of memory error. These machines cannot handle small red papers the size of index cards with Red Enhance.
