Make sure you have (I'm sure you do) right size knives
Heavy and non slip. Nice colour. Overall, price reflects the quality. One of the slots doesn't have (it's a feature for a bread knife or similar) a sharpener. You need to buy knives that go with the block, otherwise you might need to mix and match, because some might get stuck, some might wobble and so on. Overall, not a bad thing to have. Haven't sharpened the knives since I got this .

I do not recommend this product
This is a very poor product. The wood is heavy but the sharpeners just don’t work. There is a little bit of varnish on it, but so little that it looks dreadful and what is there, is patchy. I do not recommend this product at all.

Doesn’t fit basic knives!
The biggest slot is 5.08cm yet most• Chef’s knives are 5.6cmThe other slots are only 2.5cm yet most• Bread knives are 4.1cm• Utility Knives are 3.3cm• Pairing Knives are 2.7cmSo it literally doesn’t fit any knives!

Solid and good quality, and you don't have to buy knives with it
I wanted light wood not dark wood, so was pleased to find this. It was also the only decent integral-sharpener block that I could find for sale without having to buy a set of kitchen knives (like most cooks, I already have those, thank you). It's well built, but there's no base on it, presumably to stop debris building up in the slots. I therefore place a piece of thickish card or plastic underneath to stop knife points damaging the worktop, or for that matter, a stone worktop from damaging the point on longer knives. One of the 5 slots has no sharpener, as that's meant for a serrated bread knife. The block is suitably heavy and solid. The diamond-shaped manufacturer's name label on the front isn't on quite straight, which is odd; it's the only fault, and I really can live with that. Highly recommended.
