Alaska Map by Imus Geographics Map – June 1, 2016

The map is smaller than I thought it would be. The dimension mentioned in the description is for the size of the whole piece of paper that the map is printed on. However, a surprising amount of that is taken up by a list of landmarks and their coordinates on the map. This is partly because this map doesn't put the end of the Aleutian chain in a box at the bottom, but shows them in their actual location. This leaves a lot of open space north of the chain, which they have filled with text. It's a good map, I just thought that it was going to be really big.

I purchased this large-size map thinking the print would be larger...wrong. I guess I needed to find a map of just the south-central area because 90% of the rest of this very large state doesn't matter to me on my vacation.The paper is thicker than the usual state maps we all have in our glove box but it is so large it requires more folding to get down to a manageable size in the car!

I have always wanted to live in Alaska. Recently, National Geographic and other stations have been bringing many fascinating tv shows to our homes. So, I am having fun locating the many cities, towns, fishing holes, frozen rivers, etc. which I have heard mentioned on these shows. Santa is not alone living above the Arctic Circle!I would recommend this to anyone who lives in the USA or is fascinated by maps. Seeing the size of Alaska spread across the 'lower 48' is quite remarkable.Also remarkable: Amazon is the shopping place! Amazing Amazon!

I bought this map to locate towns shown on the many Alaska TV shows. the map in the Rand McNally maps was just to small. this one is much larger and shows more towns.

Though the state is so huge, the printing on the map is very small. That is the only fault I see. I especially like that state parks are listed.

I will come in handy when I plan my next trip to Alaska it has changed since I was there last over 5 years ago

I'm in a business that reaches some out-of-the-way places in Alaska. Areas around Kotzebue Sound, Norton Sound and up many of the rivers in the interior. Up the Nushagak River to Koliganek or to Bethel and the Kuskokwin River. This fold up map is the best for travel and the detail superb. I don't travel without it and use it a lot in the office in Seattle.

I have to say, these Imus folks make GREAT maps. My USA wall map is one of my favorites, and this Alaska map is outstanding. Wonderful detail. We're headed that way this summer & using it for planning .
