Collector's Guide to the Garnet Group (Schiffer Earth Science Monographs)

This is another part of the Schiffer Earth science Monographs and is accurate and a good basic guide for studying more on garnet. Great photos and a good variety of various types of garnet. This is perhaps the best source I've seen for photos and descriptions of this mineral. It will be useful for collectors and those interested in knowing more about this species.

The entire set of Earth Science Monographs are very well written and have very fine photographs and descriptions. I recommend the entire set to anyone looking for excellent books to add to a mineral library.

Excellent book.Has useful information and good quality photos.This is one of a series and I will be buying more of them

Have yet to fully read this book. Quickly went through and has beautiful specimen pictures. I was not aware of the other "species"of garnets that this book identifies. Garnets are one of my favorite minerals. It appears at first viewing I will become much more knowledgeableof the garnet family of minerals.
