Pricy - but with some nice extra features
Our third such light, we were willing to pay for the extra features. If you don't need those features, you can buy equivalent lighting for about half the price. The two earlier lights are both working fine after aporoximately a year's use. They are the "Neewer 256 Color (projection light)" and the "Uovo Rechargeable Color (projection light)". I have previously reviewed the Neewer and also referenced the Uovo model in that review.Since the method of lighting and resulting effects are similar, why does this model sell for considerably more?1. It's slightly larger.2. It comes with a remote control, whereas the others require touching the light to turn off/on or adjust color.3. Rather than giving you hundreds of colors via an infinitely variable touch control, this model has approximately 15 pre-set colors. I prefer this method, as adjusting the colors of the cheaper lights can be a bit frustrating.4. This light is dimable in 4-5 stages of brightness. The less expensive models have one constant brightness.5. This light is more attractively boxed. How are the colors? This light has some nice shades - especially in the red, blue and green spectrums. It also has violet and yellow. However, if looking for more subtle shades of orange, copper or amber, you might be happier with either the Neewer or Unovo model. One distinct advantage of the less expensive models is that they are rechargeable, able to opperate 6-8 hours on battery power. This light does not have that feature. But, overall it's a better product for most applications due to the features listed. I'll note too that this light comes with the necessary AC/DC power adapter. (The Neewer light mentioned earlier did not come with a wall charger, but the Unovo had one). One problem with this light is that the remote is "line-of-sight" only. Since you're apt to place it in some out-of-the-way spot, you may need to buy a Wireless Remote Extender to achieve optimum ease of operation. I picked up a slightly used Radio Shack brand at Amazon and it works fine, but added another $25-$30 to our cost. Another problem is the small size of the remote, making it easy to misplace. Surface area is about half that of a typical playing card and it's quite slim as well.We enjoy all of our LED projection lamps. They are cool to the touch and have very long life. One serves as a night-light, seeing around 12 hours use daily. The one just reviewed casts an array of beautiful colors on some AV/stereo equipment in a rather dark corner of the living room.

The appearance of the lights does not scroll nicely either, even at the slowest setting (If I ...
I started a return but decided to give it to my daughter for the dorm. She saw it and showed me that you have to click every time you want a setting on this lamp. I was holding down the buttons of the remote for scrolling settings. So there are indeed 15 distinct light combinations and a few brightness settings but you have to manually click the buttons to get the combination that you want. I wanted this for a slow color change automatic setting. The appearance of the lights does not scroll nicely either, even at the slowest setting (If I recall green goes to red or something, several are nearly white light, and I don't recall a purple). Some are quite bright and some are dimmer, which wasn't soothing. The lights have a strange sequence, not a rainbow or complimentary sequence. My daughter liked the fact that she could select a color, not for the automatic scrolling. I mentioned another reviewer's comment that the lamp could simulate daylight, as she has a few other daylight lamps for dreary winter days, and she liked that too.The remote is disposable once the battery quits, though it seems to be well made. This light is OK but WAY overpriced! I paid at least $10 less than the current price (in the $50 range) for this very item on Amazon last week. These seem to be repackaged & quality checked lights from Asian wholesalers that are selling for the $20 range. This would be a great light for $35.If the automated scrolling was improved to a smooth rainbow spectrum this would be a great $60 light.

Great mood light.
It's very bright and vibrant! The color saturation is 100%. I'd say that it doesn't get dim enough to use as a night light, but I think that depends on your preferences and how big your room is. The only thing I had an issue with was the high frequency noise from the red light.

Best light EVER!
This light is AMAZING!! I got it because I was looking for a light and I love bright colors and the like. I have no light or lamp in my room so I figured this would be cool, if anything it won't light the whole room up but what ever. I was wrong. This thing illuminates my room and it scrolls through all these colors its so cool! I am defiantly going to get another one for my living room my whole apartment will be a massive light show!

We like it
We like it- WE use it in our bedroom. A bit pricey. It does not shut off automatically. Do like all of the color combinations. Might consider getting one for each of the girls as we go through batteries like crazy with their various night lights.

It's piercing to my ears and I can't even enjoy the light
It's a neat little device but it emits this intolerable albeit subtle high-pitched sound frequency (akin to a dog whistle - except that I can hear it) while it's on. Maybe not everyone can hear it, but I sure could - My friend didn't notice anything until after I mentioned it, but he then stated that he could hear it distinctly. It's piercing to my ears and I can't even enjoy the light.

I like the light it gives out but the plugged in ...
I like the light it gives out but the plugged in power connection at the back isn't good, if you move it will go off. If you never touch it and only use the remote it's ok.

The best nightlight ever!!
This is by far the best night light I have found. It does not shut off automatically and that was difficult to find a night light that's didn't shut off by itself. I use it in the baby's room and she loves it it is very comforting and we'll worth the pricy price tag!!! Would recommend to anyone with a baby! You can adjust the brightness of the colors there are so many options this purchase was well worth it!
